Hayward continues to get stuck on pool light and stairs, and will not break away unless done so manually. Also, It continues to rise out of the pool no matter what adjustment I put it on, thus making my pool pump and filter work harder, thus my pool is not getting clean. It is only a little over two years old.

In the automatic pool cleaner is getting stuck, make sure you have proper water flow and that the wings and shoes aren't worn. The hose could be too short and there could be a steering failure. Check your gear box and check and clean your rear screen. If the cleaner is rising out of the pool, make sure that the head is not "floating" or holding water. Remove all air from the cleaner head. Stop all the air from entering the pool thru the return line. If you see fine bubbles, give the hose a good tug. Also, readjust your return lines so that they are not interfering with your operation.

Drain leak

Your spider (diffuser) gasket is pinched or damaged. You can replace it for under $20 unless it is the SP0714 model. If it is a 714 then you have to purchase a new key assembly or a whole new valve. Usually runs about $80-$120.

My hayward pool heater gives me a code sb what part is this

Possibly failed keypad, or stuck key on keypad.
This product should be under full warranty, and installer should be called.
Hayward 350 product manual: Error codes start page 38 do not show Sb
http://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals/Manual285.pdf
However Sb error code shows on following manual as 'Keypad failure' or 'stuck key'... one of the keys is stuck longer than 30 seconds, but control will still function, replace keypad.

If my hayward pool vac (AquaBug) is always connected when the pump is on (4 hrs/day), do I need (will I benefit) from a variable speed or 2-speed motor? Or, will I do fine just by downsizing from 1.5 HP to...

Probably go for the 2 speed, manufacturers often embellish on the hp ratings of pumps, you will definitely see more energy savings from a 2 speed. Just stay away from hayward, easy to work on for service tech's for break alot. Go with Pentair or Jandy they are worth the money.

Hayward 1 hp pump clicks then shuts off

If it has an internal centrifugal switch, usually under the cover at the rear of the pump, it might be stuck. Check it got movement. The weights on the switch move out away from the shaft when starting. If that is ok, possible capacitor.

I think your impeller may be stuck OR your start capacitor has failed. Your pump is going off on over load because it cannot turn or cannot start.

My baracuda g4 is not moving and the head of it has a hole from getting stuck in my pool stairs. Does anybody has a solution for this problem or I'm the only one with this problem. Thank you

You will need to get your head rebuilt at a pool store. But the problem with it getting stuck in the stairs is from currents that develope in the water. So you will need to redirect the clean water returns so they aim down into the pool and away from the stairs. This should fix the root cause as it were.

Hayward above ground pool heater, gas, worked great last year, but this year can not get to turn on at all, and yes the gas is turned on, could it be something to check with a volt meter?

pressure switch is a common problem on this model. remove top and its located on top of water inlet header.set meter to "continuity" setting .remove 2 wires to switch and test WITH pump running.as you probably know, unit will not operate unless front door panel is in place.

The pump only hums when plugged in. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the impellor is locked. Take this part off and then see if the pump is turning but before you do, some of them have a big screw driver slot in the shaft. If it does, turn it to see if you can free the impellor. I have done this many times and they will continue to work for years after. They just get stuck from rust, etc. and also being frozen a little. Hope this helps.

Inground pool question. How far away can I position my skimmer.

you don't say the volume of the pool, but if the 1.5 was working before and you are not adding too many turns, it will work.
