Question about Compaq Presario 700 470024-192 Notebook
Just go to www.hp.com (they bought out and now support the compaqs) click on the support tab then either follow the ident procedure or do a search for presario 700. When you find the support page there is a downloads section. Grab/download the INF and sound drivers. Run the inf first then the sound. Reboot and it should be making noise.
It's a good idea to grab all of the drivers for your operating system and save them on a cd. While windows does a pretty good job on installing drivers it does have problems with the sound and network drivers. And it will not include the laptop utilities that compaq supplied. (so get those too)
This is a common thing on all laptops so its not a problem when you can get the proper drivers.
