SOURCE: Hifonics BXI 1606D problems

it may be a wiring problem you need to make sure all the speaker positives and negatives are correct. I sell alot of hifonics amps and have never had 1 do that. it may also be a bad rca cable. if it only does it when you use the filter i would say not to use it also make sure the gain is no more than 3/4 turned up and the bass boost no more than 1/2. if you have a dif amp try a temp setup using it and if it still does it its a wiring issue. also try 1 speaker at a time on the hifonics and keep adding 1 till it comes back it may be a bad voice coil on 1 sub .

SOURCE: HiFonics txi4008 not working, partially lighting up

Sounds like your amp has some power supply compents shorted out. Maybe some of the power mosfets are shorted and your only getting a little bit of power. That why only the H is lighting and as far as the green light, it don't take much for it to turn on. If it was major it would go into protect mode but it is'nt. I repair amps for a living and I'm the cheapest you'll find. But if you know about electronics and think you can take a crack at it, check it out. Becareful you could do more damage. Let me know if your interested. skinnman33@gmail.com

Wats the best way to hook up 3 hifonic hfx12d 12s. Dvc 4ohmd to a 2 channel 2600 watt planet audio. Amp is 2 ohm stable.

Wire each sub 8 ohms(sieries) than connect them in parallel, bridged @ amp, final impedence will be 2.6 ohms.

What's the best way to hook up 2 Hifonics hdl12d4 subwoofers to a mono amp

Ok, your post has two different models listed. Let's start with something you need to know about your amplifier. Is it one ohm or two ohm stable. This will make a difference. Also, whether your subs are single voicecoil (HFI12s4) or dual voice coil (HDI12d4).

Let's start with the easy scenario. Let's say your amp is two ohm stable and you have two single voice coil subs. It's simple. You go from the positive of the amp to the positive of both subs and the negative of the amp to the negative of both subs. This will provide a 2 ohm load to the amplifier, thus pulling all the power out of it.

Unfortunatley, if you have two dual voice coil subs, you won't be as efficient. You will only have the options of a 4 ohm load or a 1 ohm load.

This is where having a one ohm stable amp would come in handy. If the amp is one ohm stable, hook the positive of the amp to all 4 of the positives on the subs, and hook the negative of the amp to all 4 negatives of the subs. This produces a 1 ohm load.

WARNING!! If you have a 2 ohm stable amp DO NOT use the last wiring scenario. It will fry your amp.

Now, the last is a little trickier. This is for two dual 4 ohm subs. Follow closely. Hook the positive of the amp to one of the positives of each sub. (do the next step to both subs) Go from the negative of the voice coil that you hooked positive from the amp is hooked to, and hook that to the positive of the unused voice coil. Then go from the negative of that voice coil and hook to the negative of the amp. Make sure this is done on both subs. This will give you a 4 ohm load.

Hope this helps

Wiring options

Hello chino2g,

For 3 DVC 4 ohm subs wired to a 2 ohm stable amp, your best option would be to wire all of the sub voice coils in series (individual 8 ohm loads) and then parallel the three subs for a final load of 2.67 ohms. There's really no other configuration. Here's the wiring diagram:

Hope this helps.

I have a Hifonics BXI1208d mono subwoofer amp but i have 2 sets of wire terminals and they go negative negative postive postive. Which do I use?

Depends if its bridgeagle or bridge internally. bridgeing provides the most power to a mono system. 2 positives and 2 negative you have a 2 channel amp. Heres a link to check out, you should be able to figure out your system and hook it up with this. Hope it helps. http://www.wikihow.com/Bridge-an-Amplifier

General ?

they are dual 2 ohm all L7 are 2 voice coil per speaker so it is like 2 speakers not 1 the dual 2 ohm version is so you can use 2 speakers wired in series to get a 2 ohm load 2 ohms + 2 ohms = 4 ohms then parralel the 2 at the amp to cut it in half to get 2 ohms. I have full warranties on mine and i dont really sell alot of them any way I prefer the hifonics they sound better last alot longer and take way more power and put out 3 times as much sound. but i can check it out if you have the info.
