Re: Will Not Start Up
The rechardeable battery in the Insignia Kix MP3 player has a finite lifespan. The amount of operating time you can expect in between charges will naturally decrease until the battery gets to a point where it is no longer able to power the unit. Assuming you are charging the unit properly, it sounds like you may have reached that point.
You can purchase a new rechargeable battery for this unit by going to

push the play button (V on the top of the unit - other end is pause II) until the volume level (number in the lower left corner beside the speaker icon) turns green (2 or 3 seconds), then push the FF button >>I to raise the level or the REWIND I<< to lower the level
on the back of the player there is a small black dot toward the top of the battery cover remove it to reveal a small eyeglass type screw remove it with an eyeglass repair kit or a straight razor remove the battery cover very gently there is a small wire attached to the battery at the bottom of the wire is a plastic prong with your fingernail gently pull the prong away from the player wait a few seconds and replace it press power and your player should start back up
Well I fiqured out that when it freezes, you can hold the ON/Off switch for about 15 sec. and it will turn off. I ahd the same problem a while back and fiqured this out so just try thatif its just frozen.
Since you cannot see what you are doing on the screen, I will tell you what buttons to push to un-shuffle your songs. Press the buttons in the exact order I tell you. Ok. Turn off the mp3 player, then turn it back on. Press the little menu button. Push the left arrow button once. Press the play button 3 times slowly. You are now in the menu that gives you the following options to unshuffle your music: 1. Off 2. Repeat single Track 3. Shuffle/No Repeat 4. Repeat all Tracks 5. Repeat all With Shuffle
I'm guessing that you may have to push the down arrow once or the up arrow once. This should select the Repeat all Tracks option. After scrolling up or down one time, press the play button once, then the menu button twice. Now push play to start your music. If this does not work, you can set your player back to the default settings by pushing the menu button once, pushing left arrow once, hit the play button. Scroll down 5 times, hit the play button, and push down 3 times. Be careful, because if you do not push the down arrow THREE times, you might accidentally select the option of erasing the memory.Once you push down 3 times and hit the play button, push down once more to select Yes of reseting your player back to it's original settings. This should help you out.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
