I try to install the driver of an UMAX 1220p (parallel port) to an USB port of a laptop, but I can't make it.

Can some one help me out on this issue. The problem here is the driver and the port, and the scanner is the one designed to work with a parallel port.

I bought an USB to parallel cable and connect the scanner to the USB port of my new laptop that does not have parallel port any more.
