This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. Jittery image after around 10 minutes of operation

hi,
i don't think it would be a loose wiring, because you said it comes after a certain time of use and only in one position, it must be a over heating of the sensor that says to the processor in witch position is the cam, or a bad calibration...
did you try to do a reset?
try to reset the cam without moving it from a plane surface parallel to the ground.
if that doesn't work you'll have to send it for repair
cheers

What causes the image on the screen to jitter

Sounds like bad convergence ICs. They are complicated to replace but a good tech should be able to do it for about $100. Let me know how this works out.

Sony hdr-cx7 image jitters when the cam gets hot

one fix is turning off steadyshot then try putting the camcorder upright(the lens pointing up) for few second until you see the video stabilize, then use as normal but the camcorder will jitter again if handle it roughly. This is just a workaround, i still dont know why it happens, need to send it for repair soon.

Voice on both end cuts in and out when using the magic jack

Thanks for getting back with me. I have not found a solution to the problem, but have found out what the problem is. The problem is the jitter. The data is not sent out in a constant stream, but is broken up and sent out. My jitter was measured as 201.9 ms, which indicates that it is too unpredictable to sustain a constant flow of data. Now I need to know how to fix that.

Digital jitter during playback

The random audio/video breakup sounds like a tape path alignment issue. Best done by a repair shop.
