04 Nissan Sentra I have been reading the problems with the cd players. Our cd player is doing something a little different. When you put in a cd you have to eject it over and over and put it back in, then eject, then put back in and it will finally start playing. It flashes, cd error message over and over until it finally starts playing. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check to see if something is jammed in it

Sometimes CD players come with a plug that keeps the reader arm in place during shipping. If you don't remove this plug it doesn't allow the arm to move, thus a code. You might recheck this. If that's not the case, check your warranty papers, you might need to use them.

The machine is trying to tell you that the laser is not calibrated to see/read the disk.

The laser is factory focussed so that it sees the substrate of the cd coating and this acts as a base line for the responses it gets.

A heavy impact such as a big pothole or a wreck can knock it out

There is little or nothing you can do about it as it would need to go to a workshop for recalibration.

The cost of such an operation will probably outweigh the replacement cost

You may get a fixed cost repair from the manufacturers if you are lucky

the lens is not good that why it can't read the cd,the lens must be replaced,but it is better to buy a new car cd player,as if u change the lens ,it does not last for long

I have this problem with my car cd player in nissan sentra. You can buy a cd/dvd cleaner and clean drive several times. Previous owner probably put dirty cds in their and the lenses can be very dirty. My cd player would say error and just spit cd back out. Now it works on and off, i think the lense is still dirty in mine. Good Luck. If that dont do it could be something more major with the player.

There are cd cleaners that have tiny little brushes on them to knock the dust off the laser. It sounds like the lens is dirty and it isn't focusing.
Assuming, of course, that it isn't a non-MP3 player trying to read an MP3 format disk...
Nah, you wouldn't do that....

Take it to a radio expert and he would clean the lens. Sometimes the lens cleaners are not enough

open cd player.clean lens with cotten.your problem will be solved forever.had same problem.
