Problem is not with the child lock......

  • craig_meier Nov 09, 2010

Checked the door closure several times......appears to close tightly, although with a little tug, it comes open. After pressing the top buttons for type of cleaning, etc.....the timer has 2 horizontal lines on it, and when I press the start button, the small blue light just flashes. When I press the cancel button, all the lights go out, including the 2 horizontal lines on the timer. Suggestions?

when I originally disconnected the dishwasher to do the remodel, there was a kink in the old flexible copper line that fed the water to the dishwasher. That flexible copper line has been replaced with a 5' braided stainless steel line. I checked both the water and drain lines and did not see any kinks. Fortunately, I do have access to the back thru a corner cabinet section that has not been finished yet.

I have taken the door panel apart and checked all the connections (pulled and reset). Unfortunately, I still only have the 2 horizontal lines appearing on the timer......and the same little flashing blue light on the start button. Now what do you suggest?

About 6 months ago or so......I had trouble with this dishwasher (used a different on-line service company) and at one point during our troubleshooting, there was a sequence of buttons that I had to push (combination of buttons along the top edge of the dishwasher) and that solved the issue. Are we at the point of needing to do something similar?

I am assuming you have tried to turn the power off and on again after a delay.

Most likely the door switch is not engaging. Have you tried to push the door a bit hard. Sometimes the dishwasher is not aligned correctly with the door spring pulling it back.

Post a comment and then I will suggest if you need a reset sequence.

Based on what you have observed, the connector between the panel and the control board could have become slightly loose in moving the dishwasher around.

Refer to this diagram of the control panel. Open the panel and remove the connector between panel and control board and put it back in. Item 11 is the control board.

Make sure the mains power to dishwasher is switched off when you are working on the panel.

The sequence you are referring to is the diagnostic test.

The hard part is that not all models of the same make have the same panel.

One sequence for Kitchen Aid is

HIgh Temp Wash/ Air Dry / High TEmp Wash/ Air Dry in quick sequence within 5-10 secs

    Check if this works.

There is no reset/or code in the buttons . you might have the child lock on look for the lock on the panel and push and hold for 3 sec . should unlock panel. . Hole this will help feed back pls mm

remove the bottom toe panel and you should find the tech on the back side it should tell you what the blue light is . ck for kink in drain line or water line both could cause a code and shut down . hope this helps feed back pls . mm

My Samsung dishwasher dw7933lrabb does not have power. There is power going into the unit, but nothing will turn on

Hello. You question is partially vague but I will try to give you some insight into possibilities. If you're sure power is reaching the washer(checked the ac connections at the base to make sure 120v is present) then next, are there ANY lights illuminated on the front panel? If there is nothing lit, then there is a strong possibility of a blown main control board and/or user interface(the push-button panel *you* choose options from). Now, if there are lights lit and when you hit start, nothing happens, the door switch could be the culprit--its a safety feature that prevents anything from turning on while the door is open. Sometimes, liquid can get spilled into the opening for the latch and drizzle down into the electric lock mech causing a malfunction. Have you had a power outage recently? If the answer is yes, then the main board or user interface could have been damaged--if the current surge doesn't blow out the appliance immediately, *usually* about 3-4 weeks after the episode things will start happening or *not* happening with appliances due to damaged chips on the boards starting to fail. The user interface board is dd92-00030A. The main control board is dd92-00033a. I hope I helped you!

Why do burners not get hot? After rehooking to electrical power, due to a remodel, the burners don't seem to heat up as hot as they used to. Cant boil water on any of the 4 burners.

Could be not enough voltage on your 220.lines ( one wire lose or a bad breaker. or the wires are hooked up wrung causing it to try to operate on 110 instead of 220

Whirlpool quiet partners II normal light flashing

A rapidly blinking LED over one of the keys of the keypad (or sometimes a "dead" keypad/console)
To determine if the control or keypad is faulty, do the following test:
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
2. Open the dishwasher door.
3. Open console and disconnect the keypad ribbon connection from the control (at P1).
Make sure all other connections are made.
4. Put console back together. Do not close the dishwasher door.
5. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect power.
6. Wait 5 seconds.
7. Close dishwasher door.
8. Monitor the control's response:
If the control is OK (no longer sees shorts with the keypad unplugged),
it will respond by turning on a Drain Motor for 2 minutes.
Check and/or replace the keypad if the control responds OK.
If the control is not OK (still sees shorts with the keypad unplugged),
then the drain motor will NOT respond and will remain off.
If no response, replace the control.

Pwering up after remodel

No reset anywhere on it. If it worked before then it most likely is the wiring to the machine

In a kitchen remodel, I am installing the dishwasher about 3 feet from the sink. How do I plumb it?

If it were me I would use a small hole saw and run my braided stainless lines below the kick plate if code allows or at the back of the adjoining cabinet at a height which would not conflict with contents. You can buy an ABS dishwasher drain kit at Lowes or HD
