No. It is an internal problem with the receptors undernath the pad. You can try and run the disk utility to find errors in the system and see if it picks it up. Disk utility is found in application folder.

My trackpack is jumping, how can I fix this?

It could be dirty, grab a paper sheet and run one of the edges through the cracks in the trackpad. Sometimes you get dirt and particles inside the trackpad. You can also use an air can to blow it. If it doesn't work, then you could have a faulty trackpad.

Using the trackpad on my Macbook Pro I cannot drag pics or files about the desktop. And my Preview has stopped working.

Best thing to do is use time machine to restore your computer to a time you knew it was working properly. If you have not backed up using time machine, a good idea would be to reinstall the system to see if things are working properly. it may take a while to reinstall everything, but could be a good process to watch the trackpad and if it corrupts when you install something specific. i know this might sound trivial, clean the trackpad and see if that makes a difference. good luck

My trackpad is not working after installing tiger

you might have to find the drivers on the website and instal them using a external mouse and keyboard.and a flash drive.there is also the possibility that there are no avalable drivers since macs make there cds individually for each computer.the comp and cd are a married couple you have to use the cd it came with.

Tap feature on MAcbook 2.4Ghz 2GB

I am running mac OS 10.5.5 and Win XP using parallels.  You need to make sure the system preferences in the mac OS to allow two fingers for secondary click using the trackpad. This allows you to right click in Win XP.
I find using two fingers and clicking the button works more reliably in windows xp.  I usually have to try two finger tapping a few times.

To right click by tapping: Go to System Preferences and choose Keyboard & Mouse.  Select "Clicking" and "Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click". This allows you to tap the trackpad with two fingers side by side to get the "right click" effect.  You can also right click without tapping with this setting.

To right click without tapping:
Go to System Preferences and choose Keyboard & Mouse.  Select "For secondary clicks, place two fingers on the trackpad then click the button". This allows you to right click by placing two fingers on the trackpad and then clicking the mouse button. 0acf97a.png

MBA trackpad button doesn't work all the time, only sometimes. I have no idea what to do. Please help.

Could be damage to the sensors under the trackpad. This is no DIY, I t will cost ot have a tech look at it, in the meantime, plug a mouse in to the USB so you can at least use it. It should be under warranty, so take it in to them and it might be free!
