It is possible that there could be a packingbrace holding fill valve shut if so remove it.On som types of fill valves that have a float ball on a rod attached to fill valve.Usually on the top of the fill valve there will be a screw that adjusts height of float ball.If float is adjusted to high it will not let water in.Turn screw counter clocwise and see if it lowers rod and float ball. You should see water start running into bottom of tank.If this works you can adjust screw until you get a reasonable fill time about 45-60 secondswould be good.Hope this helps. Thanks.

If the toilet is the only fixture in the bathroom group that is having an issue, then there is a partial blockage in Strap of toilet or in drain pipe close to toilet. If other fixtures are showing sluggish drainage, then the main drainage line is clogged. If all is fine with tub lav shower etc., pull toilet from floor and carefully turn upside down, and look to see if anything is visable. if so remove it and reinstall with new seal(wax ring). Also, look into pipe and see if any water is standing in it. If water is standing in pipe, the drain line is clogged and must be rodded(snaked) out to cure problem

Eljer toilet bolts rusted causing massive flooding

Turn off the water at the supply (under the toilet, usually).Flush the tank to remove all water from the tank.Disconnect the supply from the tank.Remove bolt caps or bolt covers from where the toilet bolts to the bathroom floor.Remove bolts from the floor flange. When you lift the toilet up, you'll see a metal or plastic flange. If the toilet has been there for a long time the bolts may not pull out of the flange easily. In this case you may have to use a small hacksaw to cut the bolt below the nut.Put newspaper or an old towel on the floor so you can place the old toilet on it. Lift the toilet off the flange.Take the new bowl (assuming this is a two-piece toilet) and turn it upside down. Position the wax ring on the horn of the outlet. Install new solid brass flange bolts, mount them and position them on the centerline on either side of the outlet.Push the bowl down over the bolts and seal the outlet. The wax will squeeze down and seal.Put the new bolts, washers and bolt caps on. You may have to trim the bolt with a hacksaw.Once the bolts are secure, mount the tank.Make sure the gasket between the tank and toilet is in place. Then position the tank on the bowl. Run bolts through the tank and secure. Don't over tighten (the tank can crack).Hook up the water supply line.Connect the supply to the line on the bottom of the tank.Turn on the water.Let the tank fill.Flush once or twice to make sure the water control is properly adjusted.Put the tank lid on.Enjoy.

to get a new one would require a new fill valve for your toilet, or a local plumber might have one rolling around on his truck.

try a paper clip, one thats a little bigger than the tube. slide it onto the tube, then clip it onto the fill tube like you would a piece of paper, this works in most cases.

Toilet tank not filling

shut the water off to the toilet .Remove the toilet supply from the tank end.slowly turn the valve on to see if their is any water coming thru the supply. If water is coming thru the supply than you know you need to change the ballcock. This is the part in the tank where the water comes out of.

American Standard Elongated toilet bowl water level slowly drops

The tank holding the proper amount of water is a good sign. The inside of the stool is like the GOOSE NECK under you sink. It always holds water. This may sound like a bit of a hassle to do but if all 3 toilets are identical, here is what you can try if you are a bit handy. Go to the hardware store and purchase 4 toilet wax rings with a plastic flange and a few sets of toilet floor flange bolts(they are cheap and you can always return if not used, as It is better to have xtra parts on hand). Turn off the water supply to the "Mystery Toilet". Leave the tank and everything connected to the stool. Flush the toilet and remove all excess water from the tank and bowl. This can be done with a shop vac, sponge or towel. Disconnect the water supply to the tank. Remove the bolts holding the stool to the floor and carefully remove toilet. Scrap off all the old wax from the floor flange and bottom of stool. Now go and repeat this proceedure to one of the toilets that is working properly. In other words Switch the "Mystery Toilet" with a "Working Toilet" and see how they react. If the working toilet does it in the same bathroom and the "Mystery Toilet" does not do it in the other bathroom then you probably have a VENTING PROBLEM. If the "Mysery Toilet" Does it in the other bathroom then you most likely have a Defective Toilet. This Job is best done by 2 people, as it can sometimes be challenging to center the new wax ring on the toilet flange. Reconnect to the floor and reconnect water supply to the tanks. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN BOLTS to the floor flange as you may crack the toilet. All drain lines must be vented properly for water to flow. If you are curious check out drain venting on the internet. Also, sometimes a vent can become obstructed with debris, ice, bird nest, etc.. I would 1st check the vent on the roof visually and then have someone flush and listen. If you believe the vent is clear....Then do the toilet switch and go from there.....Hope this helps and Happy Holidays....Joe

Washing machine will not fill w/ hot or cold water

Could be an air lock in the water pipes, turn off the water to the washer, disconnect the hoses, and hold them over the sink or into a bucket, then turn the water taps back on to the washer.
The water should come through at full pressure.,
If it does not , then the problem is with your supply and not the washer.
Hope this helps.
Plz leave feedback.
