Question about Computers & Internet
Something has been corrupted in the video driver from the sound of it.
To fix this, turn the machine off, then turn it back on and as soon as it starts coming on hit the F8 key over and over again on the keyboard, about once per second. It will bring you to a boot menu with SAFE MODE, NORMAL MODE, and other options. If you see it starting to boot into Windows XP before you get this menu it has gone to far, turn it off and try again. Get to that menu and select SAFE MODE.
Boot into safe mode then RIGHT CLICK on My Computer, go to PROPERTIES. Go to the hardware tab then the device manager button. When it comes up find DISPLAY ADAPTERS towards the top, click the + plus sign next to it, and it will drop down you video card. Right click on anything under DISPLAY ADAPTERS and select UNINSTALL or REMOVE (can't remember which, but it will be obvious, the choice that uninstalls it. Do the same thing for MONITORS on the list. Remove any monitor it has listed.
Make sure all DISPLAY ADAPTERS and MONITORS are removed. If so then go ahead and close all windows now, then click start and restart the computer...
It will boot up in normal mode, find the adapter again and reinstall it..
You should be good to go now, just install all driver software necessary.
Thanks, let me know if you have any questions or concerns, just reply to my answer here and I will be right back with you.
