Look under the radiator and you should see a petcot valve, wing nut . turn it till you see your old antifreeze coming out then once it stops tighten the nut and fill the radiator .

2001 Ford Ranger using antifreeze

you have to pressurize the cooling system. once you have pressure in system if it holds you can remove spark plugs until you see it effect the pressure gauge then you will know for sure if its going into cylinders and being burned as you drive. other way that sometimes works is to remove radiator cap and look for bubbles coming up,giving indication of compression in coolant. all tool trucks sell a head gasket testing kit that reads the gas in your radiator but it cost about 70 dollars . that is the most accurate way besides constant white smoke out of your tail pipe .

How to replace the fuel filter on 2001 ranger

A Chilton or Haynes manual from the library would help you find, and replace any part on your truck including what tools you'll need. They're also available at most auto parts stores or they can special order them for your truck. They're a HUGE help in any repair you do to your vehicle showing you step-by-step how to do it.
