Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I have a FS100 camcorder. I plan to take it with me to Europe. I want to know what sort of device I should get to be able to charge the battery in Europe. The power adapter says it can work with a voltage range of 240 volts. Can I use a simple plug adapter?

I went to charge my canon FS100 camcorder than went to turn it on and it not working now what can be the problem?

have the same prob this morning, check the charging unit for the serial no. (will begin with CA) mine is CA590E, the 590 is a known problem to cannon, it will either discharge the battery pack (pray this is the fault) or it will internally damage the camcorder. mine is only 18 months old used a max of maybe 10 times. I will reply again this afternoon when i've tried a new battery charger, just waiting for my cannon dealer to open.

Download video from my Canon FS100

Use your flash drive and just drag and drop. Plug it into either a port on your computer or on your printer. Open windows explorer to cut and paste your video and photo files from the flash drive.

My Canon FS100 is dead, it does not light up with power adapter, the battery is dead too.

The Charger that comes with the cam is said to go faulty 99% of the times. I too was shocked to see my cam in the dead condition. Checked a few things on the multimeter and found the charger to be faulty, tried replacing the charger with power supply that i designed for 8.4Volts output and the cam was back to life and started charging.!!! Hope this should help. ... you can email me for the desing of the charger or buy a new charger from an auhorised Canon dealer.Email : ankurpuranik@gmail.com

I have a Canon FS100 Digital Video Camcorder. I am attempting to download some video on to my iMac, but then I select "Connect To Camera" I get the message "No Camera Was Found". I have the camera plugged...

The computer is no longer detecting the camcorder for several reasons. It could be the ports on the computer, it could be the cable that you're using to connect the camcorder to the iMac, or it could be the camcorder itself.

Try connecting the camcorder into different USB or FireWire port of the iMac.

Try using different cable.

Try connecting the camcorder into different computer to test the device.

If all else fails, power cycle the camcorder by turning it off and remove the battery for about 10 minutes. Then turn it back on. Otherwise, contact the manufacturer for second opinion.

Hope these helps and have a great day!

My canon fs 100 doesn't turn on

I took the camera to the representative and we started various tests such as:
Tried My battery in OTHER camera .... not working
Tried OTHER battery in MY camera .... works
Tried charging MY battery in OTHER Camera .... works
Tried MY battery in MY camera and charged .... worked
Bottom end is that my charger is not working although it heats when "charging".

Now i will look at the pins in the charger to see if they are working or not.

Whatever the case .... getting a new charger.

The auto lens cover will not open on the canon FS100. Any ideas?? The battery is charged, and it worked this morning. Now it will not open.

I work for canon at one of there return centers. We get this problem on every model the only way to fix it is by replacing the front cover.
