Hooking up wireless headphones into the tv

We have a Sony FD Trinitron WEGA tv. We bought Radio Shack wireless headphones to use with them so my husband could listen to the tv as loud as he wanted, but we could still hear the tv as well. We get the sound to come out of the headphones, but other people in the room don't get any sound at all.
Thanks.

Or you can plug the headphones into the RCA input used for extra speakers

U have to split the signal by having both the tv and the headphones getting the input,as you're probably only have the audio cables going to the headphones. You need an audio splitting cable (it has 4 malle connections) so you can put 2 in the tv and 2 in the headphone base.

Hook it to the TV. That way if you play a dvd you'll hear it. Cell phones will interfere, as well as cordless phones, so there's not much to do about that.

I doubt you will be able to find the original foam ear covers. Try taking your headphones to a Radio Shack or Best Buy and see if they have something that will fit.

Wireless headphones keep changing frequencies between TV, which I want, too radio, which I don't want.

I would check the batteries or that they are fully charged in the headphones, Sometimes when the batteries get low, odd things start to happen.
