You have a defrost drain that is plugged. You need to figure out where and clean it out.You might be able to get to it from inside the freezer on some models and others you need to get to it from the back of the refrigerator. Hope this gets you on the right track.

How should I set the temperature. The refridgerator and freezer is not able to maintain a consistent temperature. What is the correct freezer and top refridgerator setting and how do I know it has accepted...

Basically the thermostat controlls the freezer temperature which turns the compressor on and off.
The refrigerator section receives cold air from the freezer to cool it down.
So when the freezer is off there may not be enough cold air left for the refrigerator.
Fridges can never give you a perfect temperature every time there will always be a drift one way or another.
Once you reset the temperature the numbers or an led should blink at you to confirm the changes you made

Hi I have a side by side fridge freezer and my refridgerator temperature is 10c i have the temperature set at 7 the highest. It was at 6 but it wasn't getting cold enough. Can you please help. thanks...

Sherree, do this simple check open your freezer door and feel the back panel in your freezer section. If you feel frost on it then a repair is required of the possible of 3 items that could have failed defrost heater, defrost bi-metal thermostat, or defrost controller and is going to require disassembly of the freezer panel and electrical checks as well as the defrost controller. but if it can wait until monday then a serviceman can diagnoise the problem and repair it.

I have a Maytag plus side by side refridgerator-freezer. The freezer works properly, but the refridgerator temperature is to high.

While you look into the back of the freezer compartment to look for ice or snow collecting on the back panel of the freezer. Let me know what model you have and I will be able to help you with part numbers what you need to do next. Let me know the model number listed most likely in these places, Thanks Sea Breeze

turn freezer to higher temp and turn fresh to lower temp this maximizes airflow into the refrigerator. check the door that regulates airflow into fresh side..see if its stuck closed for some reason. good luck! :)

Refrigerator won't cool. Freezer works fine!

Pierce, there was a service bullitin put out on this model. TDR-0010A-B. Had to do with normal freezer, warm fresh food compartment. Maytag issued a kit that included a new thermostat and damper assy. to solve this problem. Bullitin came out in 2002. If you are not having a defrost issue and all fans are running normal, I would call Maytag and inquire about the above posted bullitin, It may be covered. Catriver...post back.
