Forgot my password can't get to the start button to reboot XP professional disk. What do I do?

switch off the system manually
restart and press F8 after the BIOS checkup
from the menu displayed select Safe mode and wait.
the system may boot to administrator mode. From there try to make necessary changes
It it does not work, go for a re-installation

If you have Windows XP bootable disk then you can reset the administrator password by following the steps given in the article http://advancedpasswordrecovery.blogspot.in/2012/10/how-to-bypass-administrator-password.html. In case you don't have windows XP bootable disk(or not able to successfully follow all steps in the article) then you can use stellar phoenix password recovery software to reset administrator password.

To reset a forgotten Windows password on HP Pavilion, there are several free methods:
1. With another admin account.
2. With Windows password reset disk.
3. From Safe Mode.
