Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Deleting songs Hi, my name is Brianna and Im trying to delete songs from my mp3 player. I plugged it into my computer, a box popped up that asked if I want to "Open a folder to view files' 'Open Windows Media to Sync files' or 'Take no action'. I wanted to delete files, so I hit choice one, I saw a list of every band on the mp3 and I began deleting them. It worked for about 3 minutes, but I turned the played on and off again and BAM all the songs were back. Hmmm.... So I plugged it back into my computer but now the folder than contained the music is no longer even an option. The songs show up on the player but not on my computer. Hoping you can help- thank you for taking the time to read this. :) -me-

I found I had to wait a bit for the deleted songs to actually commit on the MP3 player.  Moreover you might have to 'empty recycle bin' or trash or whatever to get it to happen...and wait a bit for this to be communicated over.

It sounds like you want to verify that the songs are there and copy them back to your PC, though.  They shouldn't have disappeared from the PC....

Am unable delete song...they do not show up on my computer either

I have a dffierent mp3 player Colby with a usb and I had the same problem. Try deleting the songs from the device itself. If you go into folder view if you havet hat option and choose the song it says to play or delet, at least that is what mine says. It may take awhile to do it one song at a time, but you should have the option of deleting the songs from the actual mp3 player.

I also had minenot show up, mine was do to deleting some of the software off of the player to make more room for songs. I never used podcasts and other files that came on it, so after I deleted them my songs stopped showing up. I just copy the songs to my mp3 player now, and delete them one by one. Hope this helps you.

Deleting Songs Using Windows Media Player
Use Windows Media Player to view the songs that are stored on your mp3 player - best to view them in the "Sync" tab. Find the song that you want to delete, right-click the song, and select Delete (or left-click and press Delete on your keyboard). Voila!

Try deleting them through the windows explorer folders. Using windows xp you'll get a pop up when the device is recognized on your computer. Click the windows explorer option, then find your sansa in "my computer" If deleting them there doesn't work then I don't know, I'm having some issues with this too. Good luck.
