Question about GE WHRE5260E Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Is it possible to slow down or reduce the rate at which water drains out of the washing machine? My drain line is restricted and if the load is more than "Small", it drains too quickly and starts to overflow. So, is it possible to adjust the motor so it does not drain the load as quickly?

There is no flow adjustment on the drain on any washing machine, I had a similar problem on my old washing machine, I discovered the problem was the waste water pipe in my house was clogged with scum from detergent residue, I poured liquid plumber where the washing machine drain hose goes into the waste pipe in the house waited for 1/2 hour, then filled the washing machine with hot water, reinserted the drain hose, and wrapped it up with duct tape to prevent further leaks, and the force of hot water uncloged the pipe, .Problem solved

When my Maytag Bravos top load washer drains it overflows the washer drain. Can the pump be adjusted to reduce the flow and not overfill my drain?

I think you need to address the (partially clogged) drain. Assuming it is a standard sized drain pipe - with no restrictions of size down the line - it is probably clogged with lint, soap, softener, etc. Otherwise, the clog will only get worse and slow the drain more and more over time. I'd treat it like any other clogged drain. A liquid drain opener could be your first line of attack. Pour water as needed into it - do not let the washer provide the water or you run the risk of splashing the chemicals all over.

Not draining burning smell electrolux front load

Hello - Does the drain pump make a humming noise? If so, you possibly have a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Try setting the cycle to spin only and verify if water pumps out. If it does not, the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with the pump, door lock assembly or timer. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Pant shuck under drum blocking water outlit to pump , how do I get them out

Hello - Is the washer drain pump now experiencing a humming noise? If so, you possibly have a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Try setting the cycle to spin only and verify if water pumps out. Supposing that it does not, then it could have possibly caused an issue with either the pump or timer. From this point, honestly I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately since it is such a complex unit.

Drains to fast for the 50 year old house pluming, can the flow rate be reduced?

Sorry but that's not possible you'll either have a plummer come out to make suggestions about adding an air escape pipe or have to replum the line my first idea is much cheaper than the second one.

Replaced the drain hose and now during washing water tends to back up while draning out the sewer pipe.

New hose end may be aimed into drain pipe side causing water to gush back and not straight down drain. Some hose holders are difficult to align. If old hose was restricted and new one is not, the volume of the washer pump can back up a restricted drain. Clear blockage or reduce hose output and live with it. Washer pump out time should be adequate.

I am getting a EFO then E10 error message after I start a load of clothes...which means I have to cancel the load.

E10/EFO error code is an indication of a slow fill, took to long to fill, no fill or the fill water could be siphoning out the drain hose as it's filling with water.

Check to make sure that the drain hose is not stuck too far down the stand pipe and causing the water to siphon out. Check the cold and hot water supply to the washer for any restrictions. If you have a slow fill remove the hoses from the washer and check for restricted filter screens in the water inlet valve. Check for any restricted hose screens too.

I'm assuming your washer is a Kenmore or Frigidaire front loading washer. E10 error code is an indication of a slow fill, took to long to fill, no fill or the fill water could be siphoning out the drain hose as it's filling with water.

Check to make sure that the drain hose is not stuck too far down the stand pipe and causing the water to siphon out. Check the cold and hot water supply to the washer for any restrictions.
