Question about JVC Televison & Video

1 Answer

We have replaced the dish and receiver box for our 52 in JVC television but still get a "not receiving signal will shut down in 9 minutes" message. Direct TV says that it is a TV problem. What can I do?

I will pull the receiver out and see how it is hooked up. Again,it worked for two days after the new dish was installed but then went back to the same old message. if i disconnect the receiver by removing the cord and turn the tv off and on sometimes i get a signal. this takes 20 to 30 minutes of playing around though. thanks. will check it out and get back to you...lloyd

This means the input board on your TV is having a problem or that you are just on the wrong input.

How are you connecting the receiver to the TV, through what kind of connection? HDMI, Component... or do you know?

Are you certain you are tuned to the correct input on your TV, for example are you sure you are on INPUT - HDMI 1 if you are plugged into HDMI 1?

Please let me know, or if you need help identifying what input you are on and how to get there.

Just reply to my answer here and I can help,

Tim

Ok sounds good, please hold off with your next reply until at least 5 AM Eastern Time. I am heading to sleep now, and if you reply between now and 5 AM it will lock me out of the question because I won't be able to get back to you "fast enough" thus it locks me out...

So please wait until at least 5 AM to reply again, any time after that is fine as well of course.

    Thanks
    Tim

My vip 722 dvr won't turn on. It shuts down after a few seconds then tries to reboot, only to shut down again

Hi Justine, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. I regret the inconvenience you are experiencing with our receiver. Please unplug the box from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds, plug it back in and allow it to power back on by itself. After the receiver powers back on, it will acquire signal and download the guide, the issue should be resolved. If the issue persists then we would need to look into replacing the receiver. You can reach me at: kimberly.escobar@dish.com for further assistance.

Tries tv and the dish box unplug, replug it back an hour later for the tv to do a restting itself back to the factory setting and dish box to reboot and upgraded it software. This no signal problems should be fixed, not request another dish box for the replacement, because tv have no signal input bouncing around in the tv screen it is 90%-95% are broadcasting receiver boxes for tv incomming signal cable for tv signal problems.

Dish vip 622 and vip 722k frequent picture freeze and restart

Sounds like a signal strength issue. You may have either a low signal or something like a tree limb is blowing into the signal path dropping the signal strength to a point low enough to causes issues.

Can i get fm signal from a satellite dish we no longer use? This is still attached to the roof. I would like to use that coaxial cable from the dish and connect to my receiver.

No, you won't get significant signal in the FM spectrum from your satellite LNB coax. The dish is tuned to pick up signals of a very different frequency, and aimed to reject any signals not coming from a very specific direction -- up where the satellites are.

For FM, you need to receive signals from ground-based transmitters, in a different frequency range.

That said, you can totally use the coax to bring signals from your rooftop down to your stereo. To do this, you'd need to get up on the roof, disconnect the coax from your satellite dish and attach it to an FM antenna.

Best of luck!

Connection to Dish service

Your t.v is having only RFin , and if you connecting dish receiver , normaly their are two o/p for receiver one is RF and two is for audio out and video out. if your connecting direct RFout to t.v RF in then you have to tune the t.v in all bands. if your receiver do not having RFout facility, then you have to connect AV out to converter and then RFin of t.v. if you having a vcr, then connect AVout of dish receiver to vcr AVin and then vcr RFout to t.v again tune the t.v and pwer on the vcr.
