You have malware on your computer, more than likely a variant of the "Antivirus 2009" type. Download Malwarebytes using a different computer onto a disk or a usb key. If you cannot or do not have another pc, reboot your pc, when it reboots hit the f8 key repeatedly, the boot menu will come up and boot into "safe mode with networking" this will enable you to download the software. Here is the link: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

After you install it run the quick check and remove what it finds (I would review what it found prior to deleting), then reboot into normal mode and run a full check using the MBAM tool. This may find more malware, same thing applies. If you do an antivirus please run that too, it can run at the same time. You can also download this Microsoft tool to help remove any other malware at http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.aspx

Good Luck

First thing to try is starting the computer in safe mode. Once you have it up and running, do a system restore back to when it was working.
This could very well solve your problem. If not, repost your question telling us what you have tried.

Hi I have a security shield that keeps poping up telling me I have a trojan and a worm 38mof them. My McAfee tells me my computer is fine. But I can`t open up pages because this shield keeps poping up and...

A fella at work had this happen to his profile.
I fixed it for him.
I found http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-security-shield
on the above page it talks about putting in an activation code ( 64C665BE-4DE7-423B-A6B6-BC0172B25DF2 ) to the Security Shield app which shuts down the Security Shield and stops it from popping up.
Then you can delete it.

Task bar is missing on bottom of screen after pc wakes up.

mine does this with windows 7, right click on desktop and open 'personalize' then open 'taskbar and start menu'
From here choose to move your taskbar location to the side of the screen and click apply. it should return, then just tell it to go back to the bottom.

Burn Outlook Express files onto disk

You can make a copy of your .pst file which essentially holds all of your email. Do a search of your computer for *.pst. Make a copy and paste where you know you can find it. Right click the copy of the file and select send to cdrom from the drop down list. You're task bar will pop up saying you have files waiting to be written to cd. Click this windows, select burn files to cd from the left menu.

I have an HP Photosmart C4250 All in One printer. I was offered a printer up date on line, so I said yes to the up date, and when it finished I received a window that said the up date could not be...

HP also provides tools on HP's Web site that make downloading drivers much easier. HP's browser tools work by integrating with the Internet browser and running scripts to collect important information needed to perform the task. One example of an HP browser tool is the HP Printer Check. HP Printer Check quickly scans your computer for any printers that may be attached and provides links to any drivers or driver update that an attached printer may need. Internet Explorer might block scripts like these and flash the information bar at the top of the viewing window. The information bar displays more information about the item that has been blocked so that you can decide if you want to allow the script to continue. In order to use many of the tools that are available from the HP Web site, you must allow the items that Internet Explorer blocks to install or run. Run or install the items that Internet Explorer blocks by clicking the shield on the left side of the information bar. For more detailed information, use the following step-by-step example to learn how to use the HP Printer Check utility with these security features:
  1. Click an HP software download tool link to install the tool. For this example the link occurs at the top of many Deskjet printer driver download pages and appears as: Click here to have HP automatically check to see if you need a driver update.
  2. Once clicked, an informative window opens telling you more about the tool. To continue, click the Check Now button.
  3. To install the HP software tool, you must click the upper left corner of the information bar (by the shield) and authorize the first item in list. In this example, select Install ActiveX Control (see Figure 5). You can feel safe installing the ActiveX control because you know that it comes from the Hewlett-Packard Web site. CAUTION: Before installing ActiveX controls or authorizing scripts, read the text in the information bar and think about the Web site where the script is coming from. Do not continue if you do not know. Continuing could make your computer more susceptible to viruses or spyware.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
