Question about RTO 1/2 Hp 1" Electric Centrifugal Water Pump Garden Pond
Hi, a hum sound in a motor that is plugged in means that it is either jammed mechanically or that The motor itself is shorted out and unable to create opposing forces to spin. You may try to remove any cover that protects the impeller (unplugged of course!) and see if there is an obstruction inside. If so, replace cover and retest. You should also note that these motors depend on water flow to be cooled. If they are operated for extended time without water inside the pump they will overheat and fail. Good luck!

Tips for a great answer:
Hello Carroll Mcknight - Is the washer making a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, the unit may possibly be experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Contact a professional to assist with the repairs and to move forward accurately.
