SOURCE: samsung wf218 washer will not

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Try all of this first!
Here are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

How to fix drain hose on LG WM2487H M

The following are a number of things to check for the OE (drain error) indication.
If the washer does not drain then the drain pump may be clogged, damaged, or defective.
Sometimes, socks and other small articles of clothing can get into the drain system and clog the pump hose or the pump itself. Open the drain pump filter tray at the lower left of the machine and check whether it is clean, check also that the pump impeller spins freely. Remove the hoses from the pump and check for any obstructions.
First, check the drain hose to determine if it is kinked, twisted, or bent. If the drain hose is bent, straighten it out. In addition, remove the drain hose and check it for obstructions. If the drain hose has any obstructions, try to remove them. If necessary, replace the drain hose.
Check the machine's water level frequency by pressing the WASH/RINSE + DELAY WASH buttons simultaneously. Check the reading on the display, if it is below 260 (26 Khz) then have someone measure the resistance of the pump motor coil.
It should be between 10-20 Ohms resistance, if too high or too low, replace the pump assembly as it cannot be repaired.

I need to find the reset button. It will not drain. This has happened before but I can't remember where the reset button is.

Sometimes, small objects or articles of clothing can get caught in the drain pump. To determine if anything is blocking the drain pump, remove the drain pump and check the pump for obstructions. If the drain pump is clear of obstructions, but is still noisy during the drain cycle, replace the drain pump.Sometimes, socks and other small articles of clothing can get into the drain system and clog the pump hose or the pump itself. Cabro WTW6200SW2 Top Washer. Water drains on the floor instead of through the drain pipe.

This one sounds like the drain pump is damaged or the drain hose is damaged or detached causing water to drain on the floor instead of through the drain hose. Disconnect power then tape the washer lid closed and lay the machine on its front on a cushioned surface to access the drain pump and the drain hose connections at the bottom of the tub. Reattach the drain hose if detached or replace it if damaged and cannot be reattached to the drain pump. Replace the drain pump if damaged and leaking water on the floor.

My Hotpoint wdm73 won't drain. how do I fix it?

    1. You will need to gain access to the drain pump through the bottom of the Washing machine. Remove the Drain hoses from the pump, clear any debris, change, etc. If it is clear, or the error continues after clearing, replace the drain pump.
    2. If you replace the drain pump and it still won't drain, you will need a new Control Board.

    Drain pump won't pump

Check on voltage to the drain pump and if present during the rinse and after wash cycle but failing to drain out, then the drain pump is faulty.
Remove the drain pump and check coils , if open then replace pump.
Other wise clean the pump and reset.

    Samsung model WF218...not draining

Just follow the few steps here as follows. First switch off and unplug the mains. Now you look for the screws below the front kick-panel, the panel comes down & out. The pump is on the right side. Be prepared for dirty water. There is a drain hose here, disconnect & drain out. There could be a lot of water in the tub bottom. Examine your pump also, clean out the impeller. Carefully refit all. For some front loader models after removing the bottom toe panel, the filter is in the compartment having the white screw able lid. The big hose from the bottom of your tub leads to this compartment. Check the exit hose of the washer for blocks.
The machine will always leave about 3 cup fulls of water in the bottom but usually you cant see it inside the metal drum. It's possible that the pump is restricted & not flowing out properly, there is a button trap,a little flap door at the lower front of the machine that should be opened & cleaned regularly.
Now your machine will be in good maintained condition. Hope this would have helped you.

    MY SON'S DISHWASHER WON't drain

    Hello there:
Please try these things below my post and click on the links that are available for you ok
I hope that tthis is very helpful for you
    best regards michael
Water will not drain from my dishwasher. Investigate these six areas if water will not drain from your dishwasher :
    dishwasher_drain-hose.jpg Drain Hose

It is quite common for a dishwasher to not drain because either the drain hose or the air gap (if the unit has one) is clogged up. Drain hose clogs commonly occur where the hose is attached to the main household drain line, or where the hose connects with the garbage disposer. Try removing the drain hose to unclog any debris. Don't forget to reattach the hose before you start your dishwasher again.
    dishwasher_pump-repair-kit.jpg Pump Assembly

The pump assembly is comprised of a pump, wash impeller, and drain impeller. The pump ejects the water from the unit, the wash impeller pushes water through the spray arm, and the drain impeller directs the water towards the drain port. Examine your dishwasher's pump assembly. Clean out any debris that may be blocking it. Replace the pump assembly if any of its parts appear to be worn or defective.
    dishwasher_belt.jpg Belt

It isn't very common, but sometimes a dishwasher's pump assembly is driven by a belt. If that belt becomes worn and defective, then it cannot properly run the pump that drains your dishwasher's tub. If your dishwasher uses a drive belt, examine it now. If it shows signs of wear, replace it.
    dishwasher_timer.jpg Timer

A defective timer could interfere with a dishwasher's ability to drain properly. Test your dishwasher's timer mechanism. If it is faulty, replace it. Keep in mind that you can replace either the entire timer assembly or just the timer's motor.
    dishwasher_motor.jpg Motor

The motor plays a key role in a dishwasher's ability to drain water. If your dishwasher's motor is not functioning properly, it will negatively affect the draining capability of your machine. Test your dishwasher's motor for continuity. If it fails the test, replace the motor.
    dishwasher_drain-solenoid.jpg Drain Valve and/or Solenoid

In some models, a valve has to open in order for the water to drain out of the dishwasher. This valve is controlled by a solenoid, but it is the timer that decides when the valve should open. If your timer is working fine, check the drain valve and its solenoid. If need be, replace them.
