HP printers have computer sensors built into the ink cartridge that tell it when it is empty. When the cartridge is empty and you have it refilled, they have to change the sensor or the printer will still consider it empty.
HP does not want their customers using refilled ink cartridges. Using a refilled cartrige voids your printers warranty.
There is no way to trick your printer to accept the refilled cartridge unless the sensor is changed.
I am sorry and wish I could help you further.
If you want to save money by using refilled cartridges, take your empties to a company who does it professionally. They will know how to change the sensor in the cartridge.
