Question about Dell P703w Printer

My black print got very light, you can barely see it. I replaced the black ink cartridge and it is still the same. I tried doing a reseating of the printhead as suggested, but it was already seated and would not click down any further. My color ink is fine but the black is stiil very faint on the test page. Can you help with this? Dell P703w Arnold Lanning

    My black print is still exteremely faint. I have tried reseating the print head and have tried a second new black ink cartridge. It does not help the problem. I tested Both ink cartiges in water and there seems to be plenty of ink.

    I don't need anymore solutions. The printer needs professional repair. Dell is replacing it under warranty. The solutions I have been given did not work. I would like a refund of my money.

    I just got a different refurbished printer from Dell,same model, but it has the same problem. I just exchanged and had to keep the same printhead. I am just realizinng that any black print or backgrounds become white or off white when printed. I sent through a photograph of three people. Black hair became white and a black shirt became white. Dark brown hair became blond, light skin tones became quite dark . Also, white print in a colored background becomes black. White backgrounds become black or very dark. Any colored print comes through fine. Is this a computer problem or a printer problem?My printer does print black, but only if there is a white area or letter in a colored background. My printer test page must be all black lettering, thats why I don' see hardly anything. Can you help with this? Is there a setting to fix this problem?The callibration page that I did to set up the new printer, came out fine with black, blue, pink and yellow colors.

Follow these instructions on how to clean the print heads, both manually and by using the printer. This should fix your problem.

    Make sure there is paper in the printer.

    On the operator panel, press the "Options" button. After a moment, "Cartridges" will appear on the display.

  3. 3

    Press the "+" button. After a moment, "Clean" will appear on the display.

  4. 4

    Press the "Select" button. This should clean the nozzles. Do a couple of test prints. If the problems persist, try the next technique.

    Make sure there is paper in the printer.

    On your computer, click on the "Start" menu.

    Locate and click "All Programs."

    Locate "Dell Printer," then select your specific printer model.

    Select "Dell Printer Solution Center." A window will appear on your desktop.

    Click on the "Maintenance" tab.

    Select the option to clean.

    Click "Print." This should clean the nozzles. Do another couple of test prints. If the problem persists, move on to the manual technique.

    Remove the printer cartridge from the printer.

    Dip a Q-Tip in rubbing alcohol. Squeeze the cotton to remove excess alcohol.

    Look at the cartridge. You should see dried ink built up on the cartridge head. Carefully and lightly wipe the ink buildup with the Q-Tip until you have removed as much ink as possible. Put the cartridge down and allow it to dry.

    Return the cartridge to your printer. Go through Section 1 again.

It sounds like you my need to clean your print head with alcohol and q-tips. I have had to do this before with my printer because you will get a build up of ink on the print head.

Give this a try:

Use a syringe and some alcohol to unblock the holes.

Step 1: Remove the cartridge from the computer
Step 2: With the syringe, take in some alcohol and put in some drops in the tiny hole where the ink runs from the ink cartridge to the head of the printer.
Step 3: When done, put the cartridge (only where the tiny holes are found) in some warm water. If some ink runs in the water, it means that the holes have been unblocked.
Step 4: Hence, let the alcohol act for 20 minutes on the ink before putting the cartridge back in the printer.
Step 5: Run some test prints before using the printer normally.

    If your printer is still under warranty, Dell should replace with a printer that WORKS. If you are experiencing the same problem with the same printhead, the printhead is the problem. Contact Dell for a new one.

When I print from the internet my copy prints my color comes out a different color I think it might be my black ink is off I have a dell 946 all-in-one printer.

Are you using Dell Series 5 ink cartridges?

Can you copy a document under the glass? Black & White and color? Do they look ok?

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error messages the printer has. I would then plug everything back in.

Power on the printer.

Open the printer(with the power on) and take out the Dell Series 5 black cartridge and then reseat it. I would then take out the color Dell Series 5 ink cartridge and reseat it. Now close the printer and it will print an alignment page.

Any error messages?

black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges .

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

It's possible to get a Dell Series 5 ink cartridge with a bad sensor. I would that these back to the place of purchase for a replacement or a refund.

My printer keeps flashing check print cartridge, Both black and color are flashing. I have Just bought a new 92 Black cartridge and the color cartridge is full ... why is this happening?

While reseating a cartridge is not difficult but there are a number of errors that can occur if the user does not manage it properly. Reseating a cartridge should not be a difficult task for anyone with a passing knowledge of printers. The reseating error can occur after the user has replaced the black ink cartridge. It is a common problem with the black ink cartridge. The user may attempt to replace the cartridge number of times, clean the contacts and restart the plotter. If there is a problem with replacing the black ink cartridge that cleaning the contact does not fix, then it is best to simply replace the carriage assembly first. If this does not solve the problem then the user may want to consider replacing the trailing cable.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

Its may your black cartridge's ink have been drain so change your black cartridge.

I have an epson stylus NX100 and i just put brand new black ink in it recently i printed two pages max i went back to use it and it says that my black ink has expanded and i have to buy a new one? what...

try to reseat the cartridges first to charge it again, reseat means Remove and reInstall the Cartridges. after doing that and still the same issue, and you have an extra set, try to load another brand new ink,just to isolate if it is the ink thats causing the problem, if the same issue persist, its not the ink that you bought, its the printer already, the printer is broken, call epson if it is still covered by 1 yr warranty, 1 yr with in date of purchase. they will send you a replacement printer.

1. Turn on the Epson Stylus NX100 Series.
If a cartridge is expended, the ink light on the control panel stays on. You must replace the cartridge to be able to print.
If the ink light is flashing, a cartridge is low on ink; replacement is recommended.
2. Open the scanner and prop it up with its support
3. Press the nx100_tx100_ug.1.93.5.jpg Stop button. The print head moves to the nx100_tx100_ug.1.93.6.jpg position to indicate which cartridge is low or expended.
4. Press the nx100_tx100_ug.1.93.8.jpg Stop button again. If another cartridge is low or expended, it moves to the nx100_tx100_ug.1.93.9.jpg position. Press the nx100_tx100_ug.1.93.10.jpg Stop button again to see if more cartridges are expended. If no other cartridges are low or expended, the print head moves to the replacement position on the right. 5. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift the cartridge straight up to remove it. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.

My KodakEasy Share 5300 will not print in black.

92b8b47.jpgThe Kodak AiO printers 5000 series and ESP series PRINTHEADs has orange protective cap that need to be remove to fit on the printer carriage. For the ink cartridges 7b91cbc.jpgthere is also a orange protective cap.
Issue that its not printing black and deep clean and removing the printhead and reinstalling the printhead (reseating printhead) is already done and still no black when printing. The printhead should be replace. For futher assistance call 1 800 421 6699 Kodak AiO printer support line

Red light on steady

If the ink light is on steady red, that means the black or color ink cartridge is nearly empty. Obtain a replacement black or color ink cartridge. To know which cartridge is out of ink, check the ink levels using EPSON Status Monitor 3 (Windows) or EPSON Status Monitor (Macintosh). If you just replaced the cartridges before you got the error light, that means that the replacement cartridge is not recognized by your printer. Please reseat cartridges. Then turn the printer on and off. The cartridges maybe bad also.
If the paper light is on steady red, try to reload 10-20 sheets of regular paper into your printer. When printing on CD/DVD, CD/DVD tray is not inserted in the printer. Insert the CD/DVD tray in the printer and press the paper button.Could also be that the printer has loaded more than one sheet of paper at a time. Load paper in the sheet feeder, and then press the paper button to resume printing. If the CD/DVD guide is open, close the CD/DVD guide, load paper and then press the paper button.

Lined printing in black ink

We get that problem w/ refilled cartridges. There is probably a very big clog in the nozzles. If you're using virgin OEM cartridges then you should complain about it. But if its refilled cartridges you will have to do a lot of work on it to clear up the nozzles. I don't suggest you do it manually as it will take a day or so just for one cartridge. Hope this helps.

Se if the tape, that comes with a new cartriage is of the cartriage if not try a new cartriage if the does not work your machine needs service

Problem printing with HP Business inkjet 1200

I have a HP Business Inkjet 1220 Printer, and the block ink cartridge light is flashing. I replaced the cartridge with a brand new one, closed the door, and black ink light is still flashing. I put in another neew black ink cartridge, closed the door, and same issue- black cartidge ink light flashing. I cannot print- what to do?
