Its always recomended that you turn clockwise on a timer that only goes that way but if it moves c/wise or a/clockwise with no effort then it was desighned to do this hope this helps

Dryer spins but does not turn off when done

sounds like a bad timer stuck somewhere in the cycle, have u notice the timer knob advancing at all? Also the cycling thermostat or moister sensor, if bad may not detect the dryness properly and therefor not shut unit down.

Dryer will not stop running

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

Whirlpool dryer LE6810XS110 timer only works on air fluff and tumble press does not work on regular or perm. press

Check to see if the unit will heat up in the time dry. if the heater does not come on in the time dry cycle, then you will need to change the thermol fuse on the back of hte dryer.

Element heats, dryer tumbles, no heat in drum, never shuts off

Hi, If the dryer heats but will not advance in either time or auto cycles, you need to change the timer.
You can test to see if the timer is getting voltage. Remove the top rear panel and locate the two wires going to the timer motor. There should be 120V when the dryer is running in time dry.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Replaced timer, new one stops turning and doesn't turn dryer off.

Some dryers have a "press guard" setting. This willkeep the dryer tumbling with no heat at the end of the cycle. Usually you can select it on or off and in some cases can set the time. see if you have this feature.

Dryer turns on, but does not run

Try to turn the drum inside with no clothes in it, does it turn freely both ways?

Then as someone is holding the start button, hold the door switch button, then try to turn the drum counter-clock wise, and see if it will start turning on its own.

If it does start turning, then the motor is more than likely the problem.

If it dosen't then the timer is more than likely the problem.
