This is a discontinued product, therefore driver may not support for win 7.

select the down load for your model to suit vista
down load and run

Search for "PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_10311.zip" these have worked for me

It sounds like you don't have the correct security (WEP/WPA) key. if you are trying to connect to your own network, I need more information. if you are trying to connect to someone else's network, please stop, it's illegal.

Unfortunately software development for this product halted long before Windows 7 became available.

Sounds like you need to make sure your chipset drivers are up to date and all service packs are installed.
Ther is no reason it will not work in vista as it works in windows 7 64bit.So visit your motherboard site to get bios updates and driver updates, then update all through windows update and try to reinstall.
Windows should install a driver for vista.
