The Utilitec 0192773 timer has astro dusk-to-dawn functions.

The manual is very unclear at the exact point you need it to say how to set dusk-to-dawn.

The following page has the manual, with explanation how to find the astro dawn-to-dusk setting
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

When you are programming the timer, press TIME button and hours start flashing.
Press the +/- button ... the trick is to keep pushing the +/- button until it finally gets to astro, and the sun-moon symbol shows on display.
When the sun-moon symbol shows, the display also shows AM.
Press the +/- again and PM show.

So if you want Program1 to turn lights ON at dusk (PM), then your display needs to show: 1 ON PM sun-moon.
To continue setting astro, do not set hours, just press PROG button.
Then repeat the steps above until: 1 OFF AM sun-moon show on display.

The link has 2 blank spaces added to it. Copy and paste following link and watch carefully since fixya site adds spaces after copy-paste:http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire...

Okay, I am a highly intelligent person and I can not get this to work. I have followed the instructions. The time is set. When I try to program the timer and I select the time, it NEVER cycles to the the sun/moon symbol. I am only able to code in a specific time! When I set it "mode" to the sun/moon symbol it does not do anything at the selected dawn/dusk times. I have another dawn dusk switch and it works in a similar fashion, but I had no issues setting it to work. Is there a piece I am missing?

How do i program?

I bought a Utilitech #0192775 self-adjusting wall timer to regulate some window candles. I want to simply set it to come on from dusk to dawn, and have followed their directions the best I can. However, it does not work. Even some of the steps in the instructions are not on this model, so it is impossible to follow their directions to the "t". Do you know how to get this wall-timer to do what it says it will do? Thank you!!

Why does light blink off and on when set at dusk/dawn

If lights blink on-off, then red wire is connected where blue wire should be.
Red wire should be capped, and not used when timer is used for single pole operation.
OR connect red wire and blue wire together if you want Dawn-to-dusk operation instead of dusk-to-dawn

Utilitech #0192773 setting the timer for not working

I do not have repair for defective timer.
Open following link for clear large-print instructions.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Add a comment about part of manual that does not work, for possible additional help.
1) Timer replaces single-pole light switch only.
2) Timer does not have a battery and must be wired correctly before programming can take place.
3) Choose either dawn-dusk or programmable on-off:
Timer can be set for dawn-dusk operation
-OR-
Timer can be set with 7-day on-off functions of your choice

I have an Intermatic ST01C timer. Works great. I just noticed that I cannot set the DUSK time past 9:11pm. Any minute before that is fine such as 9:10pm but I wanted to set it to about 9:15pm. It has...

Call Intermatic.
You can set dawn-dusk parameters a bit longer or shorter than pre-programmed dawn-dusk times.
There is a limit to how many minutes you can add or subtract to pre-programmed times, and I'm not sure how many minutes exactly.
All astronomic timers have limited number of additional minutes, and folks write to fixya occasionally about wanting to extend the limit. But there is no work-around unless you choose to set fixed on-off times instead of using astronomic feature.

If timer begins to malfunction, you reset timer and change CR2 battery, and then reprogram the timer.
Instruction manual has troubleshoot checklist.
Timer comes with 1 year limited warranty.

I am an electrician and my client wants me to reprogram the digital timer (Intermatic) I don't know the model # but it looks like the one on the previous page. Probably the most popular digital wall timer...

Below are links to digital timers to help identify your timer.
Manuals for each timer appear on page.
Programming takes patience, which might be why your customer wants you to do it.
And these 1-year warranty timers go bad, and then timer will not reprogram, which may be another reason why customer wants you to do it.
Intermatic EJ500 and ST01C are battery operated, and will not program if battery is low.
Aube has rechargeable battery that is not replaceable, and this timer will not program if battery is bad.
Other timers shown below have clocks that operate on 120V circuit and require white neutral before display lights up.

Generally each programming is same: You set current time. Some timers you set daylight savings time. Some timers are 7-day, and some offer dusk-to-dawn. For 7-day, you set event1 ON and then event1 OFF for up to 7 programs. You choose the days for each event to operate. Before programming, make a schedule so there are no overlaps or conflicts in programming.
With Intermatic EJ500 and ST01C, event1 is the ON event and event2 is the OFF event, up to 40 events.

Add a comment if you hit trouble spot when programming.
Also fixya offers live phone support for a price.

Programming remains in memory forever, so you may only have to re-enter current time.

I have a utilitech 0192773 self adjusting timer that will not program. Only works with manual on / off switch. How do you adjust to dusk to dawn

Do not go to Utilitech.com; it's a different company. It's actually at place called TheNCC and is in tiny, tiny print at the bottom of the instructions.

Instead, go to:
http://thencc.com/ncc/support_results.asp?criteria=192773&Submit=Go&SearchRun=RunGo

You should find a PDF for the product and then zoom in to be able to read the instructions. I was not able to read instructions that came in packaging.
