Question about Kenmore 3.8 cu. ft. HE3 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Ran HE3 without Water, it's now locked up

We went on vacation, and turned off the water. When we returned, my wife tried to run the machine without turning the water back on.

It ran for a while and then began beeping. I turned the water back on, but to no avail. It now seems to be in a drain mode, the door is locked and we can't seem to abort the cycle or restart.

Is there any way to reset this thing (unplugging and plugging in again does not seem to reset it).

Same with us, ran machine, forgetting that husband cut off the water. Machine makes draining noise, wont unlock, did some beeping, couldn't cancel, unplugged then plugged two times to no avail...

Unplug the washer and wait 30 minutes, sometimes the next morning for the machine to reset. Make sure the water is on because it while find multiple failures and lock up, Secondly you can try putting the machine into diagnostic cycle to ensure it is ok. Press drain/spin and select no spin for spin speed finally press prewash quickly two or three times and let it run, any flashing codes?, hit prewash again after writing the codes down.

How to reset the system

Hiya,
in most cases of a none responcive machine after intalation many people forget to turn the water tapes back on after conecting the machine this will stop it in its tracks so i would surgest double checking you have returned the water connectors to the on posistion, unpluging the machine for a few mins should reset the programme.

Hope this helps

Front Load Washing Machine Filling On It's Own

the inlet valves are shot. what happens the coils in the inlet vales can no longer hold the water from going into the unit, causing water to run into unit when not in use. replace the inlet valves and you should be good to go. the inlet valves can be removed by, removing top panel(3screws in back), disconnecting hoses, taking the small clamp on the small hose connected to the dispenser. theirs a small screw holding the inlet valves from back pane, remove old inlet valves and replace and you should be all set. hope it helps.

Kenmore HE3 Front Loader Washer Cold Water Intake problem

For low water volume - or "Trickling" effect...

1. Turn off the water supply to both hoses.
2. Remove hoses (one at a time so you don't get them confused)
3. On the washer side - look for a removeable screen inside wher you just removed the hose.
4. Using a small screwdriver - pop out the screen and reverse-flush it/clean it. It will likely be full of sediment and calcium deposits from your pipes.
5. Replace the inlet screens.
6. Re-fit the hose to the machine.
7. Turn on water supply valves.
8. re-try.
