For Windows try a combination approach. Unplug the data cable from both the computer and the printer (USB). Then stop the print spooler and restart it. You could do this from the Control Panel (System Services). I find it easier to do this from the Command Prompt (For Vista and Win7 you need to run as administrator) Start > All Programs > Accessories > right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator (for older versions just left click on the Command Prompt).

At the prompt in the window, type "net stop spooler" without the quotes followed by hitting enter.
At the next prompt, type "net start spooler" again without the quotes and then hit enter.
(Press y if you are prompted with a warning about fax service after the first command). Then restart the computer after you see another prompt.

Once your computer has rebooted, check if the spooler is empty before reconnecting the data cable. Then try to print another job.

I hope this helps.

(you can actually stop the service without restarting it and then reboot. However, you need to take a long coffee break before the spooler finishes clearing the stuck document.)

Hi, as i turn the printer on its start to print some code!! It seems its on the memory of the printer. Even if i unplug the usbcable it prints by itself. I tried do restore the default config but nothing...

If you are running Windows, then your printer buffer is trying to send the print job to the printer.
Look down below in the STATUS area near the time. See if you have a printer ICON. Select it and choos to CANCEL print jobs. Then after all jobs canceled, turn your printer back on.

I cannot seem to cancel an old job stuck in there. I have hit cancel, powered off and on, unplugged. Everytime I try to print a new job it puts out this old one.

moz-screenshot.pngThe best thing to do is do a memory reset. But this could also clear pages and formats, user defined characters and fonts, configurations, tables,or all of these parameters.

To reset memory
1.Turn off the printer.
2. Set the DIP switches to reset a portion.
3. Press and hold the Feed/Pause button while turning on the printer. The printer prints out a hardware configuration test label.
4. Hold the Feed/Pause button for 1 second. The printer resets a portion or all of its memory.
5. To exit test and Service mode, turn off the printer.
6. Reset the DIP switches to their original setting and then turn on the printer.

That should do the trick.

Cancelled a job and it stays in queue

Cancel all the documents in the print queue, (just do it whether they are actually deleted or not), press "cancel" on button the printer and restart your system and also the printer. If possible, please leave the printer switched off for few minutes and don't forget to use the "Power" button to turn if off or on. This will help your printer to restart new print job, all the jobs on the print queue will be deleted/cleared. Good luck, Thanks for using FixYa.

Every time I cancel a print job in process, the printer does not clear the queue. If I cancel it manually it shows "deleting document" but never clears the queue and all other print jobs backup. My only...

Several HP All-in-One models have this very same problem. The only way you can get rid of the unwanted job is to reboot your computer.
You could also try unplugging the printer and plugging it again to the computer, or just turning it off and on, but most of the times rebooting is the only option.

Printer stopped working after I cancelled a print job

Turn off your printer and completely unplug the USB cable (from both the printer and the computer). Next check if the stopped document or the later documents are in the print spooler queue. If you can cancel all documents from the queue, do so. Otherwise: from Start Run (or the command prompt)
type: net stop spooler [enter]
then type: net start spooler [enter]

This works in XP and older MS Operating Systems but I've never tried it in Vista.

If you only enter the first command, you need to reboot the computer and then take a long coffee break after logging in before trying to print again.

Sent too many labels to printer - need to reset

As the previous expert has stated, with the printer paused, press the cancel key to cancel the job. One thing to note, is depending on how your software sends the print jobs, you may say print 1000 labels, but the software sends it one at a time, so basically you have 1000 print jobs in the printer. If you pause the printer, press and hold the cancel key. Hold it for about 2 mins. This should clear the buffer.

How to stop the printing job of my printer?.it can't be canceled

Clear the print queue by double clicking the printer icon in the Printers and Faxes folder and power off and unplug the printer power cord. Remove the paper from the tray and power the printer back on if it attempt to print again repeat the process until the memory is cleared.

Not printing and nothing is paused or on the print list.

First of all you must let canceled print jobs finish deleting before sending new jobs, if the job is taking too long try restarting the computer with the printer on to clear the jobs this usually works if not then after restart open the printers folder and cancel all jobs here. let them finish deleting while the printer is still on (they must remain in communication during deleting jobs. Once all jobs are gone, remove the power brick from the printer for about a minute then reinsert and let the printer start up if it doesn't after a minute or so just turn it on once it finishes then try printing again.

Printing status frozen and won't delete or print

Have you tried unpluging your printer from the computer as well as unpluging the printer from the electrical? If that doesn't work you should start from scratch... that is remove the printer from the computer memory, delete it, turn off the computer, turn on the computer and go through the installation process as if you just purchased the printer. Barring any mechanical problems as in jams or the such, the printer should return to operational status.
