Question about Weslo Exercise & Fitness

1 Answer

I have a Weslo Cadence C44. Occasionally it speeds up to maximum by itself which can be dangerous. Pulling the 'stop' has no effect. Have to use the front bottom switch (faster than pulling cord from wall) to make it stop. Afterwards it works normally again. What can I do? edparrey@cox.net

With that combination of symptoms I think your problem is the main controller board and not just a sensor. As well as speeding up you could get it suddenly stopping as well. You need to contact Weslo or talk to any local shop that sells these and find out where to get it repaired.

I would not recommend using it until it is fixed. With the speed changes and loss of controlled stops you could get hurt rather easily.

One thing to check is the repair cost verses replacement. I've seen a lot of these get junked as the repair cost is too high. So you want to know what a replacement is worth before you consider getting it repaired.

Our Weslo Cadence Dx12 treadmill will only operate at the highest speed and will not turn off without the safety key. The speed cannot be adjusted to slower speeds.

Go to Radio Shack and buy some contact cleaner. Clean the peed control on the console. If that doesn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the motor controller PCB..

Walking belt slows down to almost a stop when i get on it

I believe under the motor shroud on the circuit board their should be 2 pots 1 adjusts torque 2. adjusts speed try adjusting them and see if that take care of the problem if not. worse case it might be the drive motor.
