You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

If this isn't the problem, please reply to this post stating what you're doing to get this message, and we'll go on from there.

Invalid dim when zoomstat

Invalid dimension is displayed if the two columns have unequal length (number of elements).
Try plotting the scatter plot first, then worry with the Zoom.

What is the meaning of the error message "invalid axes"

This is problem with graphing differential equation. Invalid Axes error occurs if Axes=TIME or if t(time) is set as a CUSTOM axis. This is important to noticed: if Fields=DIRFLD you cannot plot a time axis. See captured image

What does "invalid dim" mean?

The ERR:INVALID DIM error message may occur if you are trying to graph a function that does not involve the stat plot features. The error can be corrected by turning off the stat
plots. To turn the stat plots off, press {2nd}[stat plot], and then select 4:PlotsOff.

When I try to graph, say y = x, I get an error message that says "invalid dim." The window settings are identical to another TI-73, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Can you help?

"invalid dim" could also mean that a list or, lists don't have the same dimensions or lengths. To fix this press [2nd][MEM][6][ENTER] -To clear out all the lists. Ti's instructions normally just has the user delete all memory instead of finding the exact problem. This can be done by being at the home screen and, by pressing [2nd] [Convert] [1][2][ENTER]. But, because I don't like starting all over everytime I preform a math process and, I like storing things into memory so I have to find the problem and fix it as I go a long.

To find such a problem as your's, I would look at x in the y= equation. It may be claiming that x is a list too. So you may want to [2nd][MEM][4] and then use the press [1] and find and highlight x and, press [ENTER] to delete it. It also might be a good idea before you start in the y= editor to press from the Home screen [2nd][MEM][4] and then press [4] and highlight the y= have equations and are not empty and, press [ENTER] to delete them. Then I would continue deleting all the y= equations too. Sure you can just make sure their off but, I'm not sure how advance of a user you are. On your calculator for the window settings to be a problem, you would have probably received a window range error.

I need help with graphing everytime i try to draw a graph it comes up with this ERR:INVALID DIM what does that mean

It means that your Xmin or Xmax is messed up. it often shows up when you are plotting somethings (histogram for exanple) and you don't have enough X or Y range to fit all the points in it. it also happens when you are multiplying matricies without using the right dimensions. ERR:INVALID DIM just means your dimension is invalid.
