Question about HP Pavilion a250y PC Desktop

I have a home network set up but my HP pavillion a250y does not have a wireless card. As it is an older computer, I am wondering if I can even add a wireless card to this computer.

Printer wont print from notebook even tho it prints from desktop on a home network, My notebook is a hp pavillion 6915nr with windows vista home premium oper system

To get it to print from your notebook you will first have to install it on the notebook as a network/shared printer. To do this you'll run the add hardware wizard/printers making sure the printer is on and connected to the network. Once windows installs the printer driver you should be all set. Hope this helps.

How do i set up wireless internet on my hp pavillion a330n desktop? Do i need a wireless card or is it built in? and where do i put the wireless card if i need one?

Hello,

Yes you need a wireless adapter.

Solution one : Get PCI wireless adapter which you will insert in an empty PCI slot inside your computer.

Solution 2. Buy a USB wireless adapter, which you plug in a USB port.
However, if my memory serves me right, that particular HP pavillion is 5 or 6 years old, and it does support USB 2.0, just USB 1.1

My advice to you is to buy a USB 2.0 PCI card to be installed in an empty PCI slot )or in the one occupied by the firewire )if not needed). This card will provide 4 or 5 USB 2.0 adapters. Then buy a USB wireless adapter, which you will be able to use with other computers.

Hope It helps.

Cant connect to wireles network . will not find network. not sure if equipprd with wireless adaptor

I don't think it has a wireless adapter as standard, you can check by doing this:

Right click on My Computer and chose Properties.
Click on Hardware and then Device Manager. This lists all the Hardware in your PC.
Next double click on Network Adapters.
If there is a wireless card listed here then you will be be able to connect to a wireless network. If not then you'll have to purchase one from a PC shop.

Don't know what to change to allow PC to reconize wireless.

If your using Vista: (64bit and cant download the program to clear arp error)

Start > Network > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless Network > Highlight your Wireless connection ( Select Remove) > Add > Then go through the process of finding your wireless connection and you magically got back your protected wireless agian.

Hope this solves it.

2wire wireless connection

Yes !
Wireless zero configuration service should run.

Go to control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services, then then locate and double-click on Wireless zero configuration.
Change the Startup type to Automatic, and then click on Start. (Apply and OK).

Also you have to check your Wireless network settings configuration -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

If you are using some utility for wireless connection, disable it and try with Windows (standard) wireless connection.

On the end, it might be useful to compare these above settings with the settings on your another computer and find the differences.

Regards.

Unable to get on the internet from my wireless connection

If you have a whitelist on your wireless router in your home, make sure that you are allowed on the list. What is happening is that you are correctly connecting to your wireless network, but your router is not allowing you to access the internet. The problem lies in your router, hopefully that should help.

Flashing Green Light on mx705 monitor

If the HP has onboard video but you have an add-on video card, remove the add-on and connect the monitor to the onboard vid. If it works you have a bad add-on video card. If it doesn't or you are already running on on-board video hook the mx705 up to a compatible HP. The older PB may be TOO old to handle it or not hve the correct drivers.
