Pull the back off the TV and locate the convergence board. It's up and to the right in the circuit board area and has two large black Ic's mounted on it. Locate the red colored plug to the left front of that board marked +/- 20v and unplug that. Now plug the TV back in and attempt to power it up - - - if it powers on the picture will be really messed up (unwatchable) but that will tell us if it's a convergence failure. This is the most common problem for these units with those symtoms...
Repairing it will be a snap then... Just let me know...

I have the same problem and I just tried unplugging the power to the convergence board. It is on the upper left in my TV. removing the power plug did nothing. The TV still repeatedly tries to power itself on, playing a little sound, clicking, and blinking the timer light. Any suggestions?

Dryer heats for maybe 1 minute then stops. Samsung Model DV328AGW/XAA

In the rear of the dryer is a thermal limiter which will kick in when the exhaust temp is too high and can cause a fire. One link will show what the limiter looks like and the other will show how to commonly get to the limiter. Your mileage may vary.

I have a samsung N130 it will not turn on, just an orange light? Any ideas please?

I am thinking A/C and battery. If the A/C is plugged in should turn on even if the battery is dead.
Ah--power supply went out. I have not changed these on a laptop. Maybe call office depot or staples to see if they have a tech or you could do some research.

I hope this helps.

Got new STK392-040 chips and picture is still distorted. Manual convergence still won't alligne all colors.

the 183 is entry into the tech menu===you need to test all the low value resistors around the convergence chips(only 6 or 8) and they will read low and a resistor with NO reading may be your problem.

Also these sets use a pico fuse going to each chip--either right with it or back at the source----know what a pico fuse looks like"

Samsung hcm4216W turned off by itself loops.

Instead of typing model number of your TV (that located on right hand side and on the back of TV) you published here part number of your TV's remote control. LOL.
Anyway... If it is LCD/plasma panel that you talking about - than power supply have bad electrolytic capacitors that have to be replaced. You can recognize 'em by bulged/swollen tops (instead of flat tops of good capacitors).
This repair required soldering skills.

hello there should be a glass type fuse inside the on the power supply board you you may need a mulitmeter to test it . but if it's black in colour then it's blown beware if you put another 1 and it blows again then you have a dead short must put the same rated fuse back can tell the value of the fuse by looking at the end of the fuse or it will be next to the fuse holder on the power board note the could be a couple of these fuses on board so check them all and make sure you have the power off when you do these checks hope it helps

HCM4216W...replaced convergence board...still no dice..colors and tv are not focused...if that makes any sense...please help Samsung parts sent me the convergence board without the do i get one...

Do not take this the wrong way--I have seen several people make this kind of mistake--why on earth replace the board when you can buy the pair of chips for under 15 dollars?

At worst--there will be other than the chips a fuse on the board near them bad...

Look at the old board if you have it--this model should use STK-392-040 chips--I can tell you a seller who has them on EBAY---my point is these sets it is almost always better to just replace the chips and fuses if needed--

Do you have the old board? Can you return the new one for a refund?

I have repaired hundreds of sets with convergence problems and only a very few needed to have the board replaced.

I understand why this happens--people think it is easier to replace a board but they are wrong--it always costs more that way and presents problems.

Give me as much info as you can and those chips are readily available. I can tell you name of the seller I buy mine from--got several of the chips your set uses on hand right now.

If this helps you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

If you have questions or need any help ask me--I am here to help.

Samsung HCM4216W Power Problem

The most common problem for those symptoms are convergence amps. That unit takes two stk392-040 Sanyo Ics and will most likely require that several low ohm resistors (3.9 ohm-2w) be tested and possibly replaced.. There is one last thing also, a pico fuse at Fd102 (3.5a) that sometimes opens and would need to be replaced..
The convergence board in these is easily removed, so an in-house service call could be done...
Hope this helps!
