Question about Samsung AW1203B Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Samsung air conditioner

Unit is less than 1 yr old, and this summer it does not get as cold as before, and the low speed does not work -- only med. High seems the same as med.

What kind of air conditioner is this? Samsung makes a lot of different styles and applications. A model name could help too.

In the meantime I suggest that you read the maintenance procedures for cleaning the unit and give that a shot. Many problems are solved or avoided by simply cleaning and maintaining your equipment.

Fan will not run without starting it yourself and will not run high speed at all

Sounds like an old unit with a bad run capacitor or

check the components on the board for burnt wiring.

Fans on window units are controlled by a 3way switch. High, Med., and low. Your power and in most cases a capacitor which doubles for the compressor and fan.

So it can only be 1 of the 3
Burnt out windings on the motor
Bad switch
Bad capacitor

Where do the 3 wires from the blower motor connect to on the control board for high speed use in the summer time? Black, Blue, and the Red one? The white is a no brainer. I can go to M1, cool, and heat....

Hello, the black wire is your high sped motor tap and it should be on cool as you have it. Blue is med-hi and red is your low speed motor tap. You have it wired correctly. Now the freezing can be caused by 2 things, low airflow or a low refrigerant charge. Low airflow can be caused by a dirty air filter, dirty evaporator coil, dirty blower wheel or the blower itself is running slow due to a weak capacitor. Anytime the motor is changed out the capacitor should aswell. If the airflow appears to be ok then the unit is low on refrigerant.

CEILING FAN w/remote. It worked until removed to paint. When it was reinstalled the speed is backwards (high for low, no med, low for high) & lights do not work. The re installer is not an electrician,...

There should be a small switch or a cord (tied to a switch) that changed the direction of flow. The reason for that is because you want the fan to move air downward CCW in the summer and upward CW in the winter.

Hello, sounds like the blower speed is set to high, try lowering it to med high or med low to see if it helps.

Do you know of a way to slow down the LOW speed fan setting on a Kelvinator KSE70HRA air conditioner? Low is very noisy and blows air like a HIGH setting.

Hi, no, im sorry if it is on low already, it can't be changed to go any lower. The only thing I can come up with is the fan motored is wired wrong, and they have the high or med lead connected to the low speed, as it should run slow. On a central air system, there is a board that is in the indoor unit that shows the fan speeds, and they can be changed.I didnt look up your unit, and if it is a central air and not a window unit, you can change the speeds at the board. The wires are colored, blue is normally low, red is Hi, and blk or yellow is med. If this is a window unit, there is nothing much you can do. If you know anything about electrical, and you have a 3 speed fan, pull the cover to get to the switch back, and see what leads the have terminated to the switch. They may have it miswired. I wish you the best of luck,

A/C blows weak/low volume of air through vents

I f it is fan that has more then one speed if you run it all the time,it may
not be on high sample : low fan speed runs all the time
med fan speed for heat
high fan speed is usually for air conditioning so if everything is good then it maybe the relay.
