Hi, I am not sure the computer was built 3 years ago, it runs windows xp, by the way this cam was working until today, i had an older camera software still on the the computer so i decided to uninstall it, by mistake i uninstalled all the cams. so tried to reinstall this one and that's when this problem started.

i got pretty much through installation but now says cam not plugged in. i don't have the box the cam came in, but i think it is a 5000, it says rightlight technology on the little cam. I bought it less than 2 years ago.

    Thanks for your efforts
    Rick

Do you have other computers there? If you will be getting the same problem with other computer then this could be a hardware problem already.

Have you tried to plugin this webcam(logitech) to your laptop? just to test if you will be getting the same issue.

This could be a USB port problem. Since you already use 2 webcam and its giving you the same issue. Could you plugin a flash drive to your USB. Just to chec kif your computer will read the flashdrive.

If you have 2 cam programs loaded on the same pc you may have a conflict. I would suggest you make a trial with your favourite and uninstall the other software. As a logitech user you have the advantage of being able to launch the toolbar and running the cam from there. You can also use the logitech forum ( they don't answer questions about chat programs) but you can ask about conflicts and your specific problems. The forum is accessed from the toolbar ( blue circle with question mark )
You can access logitech from the webcam toolbar - its the last symbol (logo with 'logitech' under.) They have email and telephone help as well.

Finally, have you tried another browser? Download a spare browser and use it without add-ons or plug-ins, Make it your default and give it a trial.

Sound is distorted on Logitech quickcam 9000 at the receiving end

Uninstall the Webcam drivers.

Reinstall the Webam drivers, there must be a tick box in the setup somewhere to let you stop automatic updates.

Look closely as the Reinstall proceeds.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

ok,

what you can do is uninstall your cam drivers and reinstall again, as soon as your computer recognizes the camera, try following the new device wizard and select install from a list of specific location. this will prompt you with a compatible driver for your cam and select that. then follow all the prompts and click finish. after installing it, restart your computer.
then try it now.

post if this resolved your issue.

Driver not recognised

Usually, I have seen with most USB webcam, they want you to only plug in your webcam after the software ask you to plug in the webcam. If this is the case, uninstall and reinstall (but, do not plug in webcam until the software tells you to).
