On pressing on button blue screen appeares with some writing to top l/h of screen for a split second then screen goese blank

Sounds like a common problem where the Horizontal Output Transistor shorts due to heat, loading by a partially shorted flyback or yoke or old dried heat sink compound. If the HOT is ok then there is probably a short in another component. This can be determined in most cases by isolating each module one at a time. In other words disconnect the audio circuit and try, disconnect each crt separately, etc. If no shorts are determined check the power supply for proper output voltages. All this would need to be done by a tech or someone familiar with the process. Repair cost should not be that much compared to the cost of a new set.

logik lcd tv LCX27WN2. have sound but no picture. Tv on std by red led on, press on button led goes to green, after approx 2 seconds sound comes on, screen is blue for a split second with writing to top left of screen then goes blank,but sound is on

this is a lcd tv not a crt
no help from fixya members, but managed to repair myself, fault is on inverter board in the area of the i.c. This chip shuts down if faulty txfmr or light tube, if pin 10 goes above 3.5volts due to fault you can do 1 of 3, 1 = replace inverter board, 2 = repair board down to component level, 3 = cheat like me, solder a led to pin 10 and ground on the inverter board.
If you try 3 do it on you own back as i take no responsiblity if goes wrong.
not sure how long this will last.
