Question about RCA F36689 36" TV

2 Answers

I have a 36'' RCA Guide Plus Gold TV. I connected my XBox 360 to it, but cannot figure out how to program a channel for it to come up on, or even what channel to have it come up on.

It most likely will be found using the input button. You probably have it hooked up with yellow, red, and white RCA jacks?Turn the system on and cycle through the inputs. You should see it.If you don't,let me know and we'll figure it out. Good luck,Greg

Through which input did you connect it on? Component? If yes then just scroll through your television's input modes(component1, component2 etc.,) until you see an image. If problem persists, then let me know and I will help you resolve it.

Ok, if it has only one component input, then you should set the tv to component input mode. Scrolling through the channels will not help.

To the left of the 0, there is a button that says "input". Press it till you see component at the top. That should do the trick. If problem persists, then let me know.

If you have the guide plus feature go into the setup for it and when it asks if you have a cable box, indicate no, when it asks if you have a Vcr also indicate no. Last if it asks for the zip code enter all 9, This should rule the Guide feature out of service and you will know if it is your problem or not---it created a lot of problems in sets that had it, especially RCA or GE sets.

Probably not. RCA parts for this model are very difficult to find. Even you could find a kit, it will not have enough to repair. A do it yourselfer or TV tech will have a difficult time repairing this. Please shop for a new TV. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

Using RCA P61939 without Guide Plus

Guide plus still works even if you don't have the wand hooked up. In the setup section of the guide plus there are several questions that must be answered properly or it won't function as you would like. It maybe labeled as options as well. Thanks

Guide plus on my rca p52937 tv

You are right, the Guide Plus is transmitted to your tv over the air. If you have a cable company supplying your programs, your Guide Plus will not receive a signal to set up. You will need to get a two-way splitter. It has two connections on one side and one on the other. The side that has one connection goes to your tv. The side that has two connections will connect to your cable supplier and the other to a rabbit ear or outside antenna. Then the tv has to be off over night to restore your Guide Plus.

Guide Plus Gold service on a 2000 Zenith TV

I have an RCA televison with Guide Plus Gold and it works great. I am not sure about the Zenith and how it works on it. When I turn on the TV with the remote the guide comes up on screen. I just have to press the guide button on the remote to remove that screen and watch the show. If I don't press anything it will go off after 2 minutes. If you have never set up the guide it will probably show up all the time. You will have to go through and program it so it will know if you have cable, over the air or satelite. I don't have satelite service so I don't know if it will reconize it. I know it works with over the air and cable.

Good luck

RCA MM61110 Television

I had the same problem sometimes when my Gold Plus would reset itself and include all the channels but only those Over-The-Air channels. The only way I could change the programming was to completely shut down the power. Not just turning the tv off but completely unplugging it from the wall outlet. When you turn your tv back on you'll be able to choose from Antenna/Cable option. As for Guide,if you don't want to use it, don't set it up, it won't effect anything else on the television.
