in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television for four yrs now.....finally
just last evening. I have no picture nor sound the power button blinks
five or six times and then the LAMP indicator ( located under the power
button) light blinks red several times before a solid red light back on the power button.
IS this a LAMP replacement or a Bulb? Thank you, Whyte23

search ebay .. there are suppliers online .. works like a charm ! You have to get the exact bulb # either from the bulb itself or your TV operator's manual.
Make sure the lamp door is closed correctly with security strap tightened. If the door is not just right, it will give you the same result as a bad bulb.
New bulb is just fine. 3 blink shows that lamp cover after replacement of bulb in TV is not fixed properly or not seated well in its position. Put new bulb and carefully place back lamp cover in its position because lamp cover will press tinny safety switch inside that will send signal to system control of TV that lamp is installed properly. Turn On TV and get vivid picture of Sony. Thanks.

usually the lamp light blinking red is an indication that the lamp has malfunctioned. Try removing the lamp housing and reinsertng it. if that doesnt help you will need a new lamp or ballast. most likely the lamp

The lamp was replaced....yesterday 6-18-08.
I'm up an running once again....no problems by installing it myself all of 15 mins.
