Akai Plasma PDP4273M with white block and green tint
My plasma when powered on will display a white block in the upper middle portion of the screen approximately 6 in by 3 in. The rest of the screen has a green tint to it. I was wondering what board may cause this and if there is a way of testing something or replacing a few components on the board that may solve the problem,

I have the same problem with mine. I had a repair guy come by and take it apart. He said its either the video board ( about 500.00 ) or the buffer chips which on these tvs are connected to the screen which is not worth the money to fix.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Are the lines completely through the screen or just the upper or lower part of the screen? If through the whole picture, lines in the picture of a plasma can be caused by a defective Main Logic Control board or a bad plasma panel. The panel, if available would be very expensive (cheaper to buy a new TV). If the lines are just on the upper or lower part of the screen then it is the upper or lower scan drive board. Here is a list of the parts for your TV.
This sounds like a loose solder joint, or overheated component. I know this may sound like a **** question, but have you tried tapping the TV to see if it goes away? If it does, you will need a tech to re solder the loose component. I have also seen this type of line and color bleed problem, believe it or not from poor cabling or loose connections.
If you can see the red tint with every input source and also in the On-Screen Menu, then this indicates that the Green phosphor is burning off of the screen faster than the Red and Blue. This is typical of plasma screens. Even if you dont watch a lot of golf or football, green is the most dominent color and burns out of the phosphur pits(pixels) faster than the Red and Blue. Take away green, you are left with Reddish looking screen and Pink whites. This is not repairable. If the Menu looks nice and white, check your source cables. Good luck
Hold The Clear Tv buttom until all 4 light flash red , then press code search at the bottom right , then the up arrow until ur tv goes off and finally record , after that u only need to press the red tv buttom to open it or close , If it doesnt open it back its because u press the up arrow after the tv was shut off so do the same thing be using the down arrow .
