Gx160 pull cord rope broken

1. Buy a starter repair kit or get five feet of nylon rope similar to what was in the starter from a Lowe's, The Home Depot or the like.
2. Remove the three bolts holding the starter on the motor and remove any remaining rope on the pulley.
3. Line the hole in the pulley up with the hole in the starter housing and thread the rope through both.
4. Tie a tight knot in the end of the rope and cut the tail off so it won't interfere with motor but not so short the knot comes undone.
5. Thread the other end of the rope through the t-handle and tie a knot in the very end so the handle won't come off and the rope won't be pulled into the starter during the next part.
6. Pull the rope up between the starter housing and pulley and get the rope into the notch in the pulley. Turn the pulley clockwise with the rope in the notch to put tention on the spring. Give it four turns.
7. When the notch gets back to the hole in the housing, hold the pulley and pull the rope back into place from outside the housing.
8. Let the pulley turn slowly so it retracts the rope.
9. You want four windings on the pulley and the t-handle to be held against the housing. If you don't get four windings on the pulley, give the pulley another tension turn (Step 6). If you have four windings and the t-handle isn't held against the housing or you get more that four windings, shorten the rope at the t-handle.
10. Reinstall the starter and you will be back in business.

How to replace belts on a snowblower and removal of auger from housing.

hello,, How to replace the auger drive belts on a MTD,Yard Machine, and other two stage snow blower, that don't allow enough room to slide belts between the pulleys.
1.Tilt machine up on front end to remove the bottom frame cover, there should be six screws to remove, tilt back up right.
2.Remove the chute crank from the left handle and from the shoot.
3.Remove the black belt cover, there should be three screws.
4.Remove the support guide bracket, that the cable is running through, and remove cable end from idler pulley arm.
5.Remove belts from upper pulleys. (hint if there is a bolt holding the pulleys on it is easier to remove the bolt and slide the pulleys off to be able to remove the belts.)
6.Remove the six bolts and nuts holding the front half to the back half together, slide front part out to be able to remove old belts and install new belts. (hint make sure you get the new belt under the belt keeper on the bottom.)
7.Reassembly in reverse.
8.Set of two belts 0.312x34.75, part number 954-040B, $30.28

This first part is for replacing belts.
To remove the auger assembly completely follow these steps.
1.After removing the belts, and separating the two halves, remove the bolt holding the pulleys on,pay attention how bolt comes off and the way the washers are on be sure and put back on the way they come off.
2.Remove the pulleys and make note how they come off of the adapter pulley.remove pulley note how comes off.
3.Remove the bolts and nuts on the side of the housing.
4. Pull the auger out and place on work bench, making note how the end parts come off.
5.Remove the shear bolts to get and slide augers off, be sure and mark which way they turn as not put back on backwards.
6.You can access the auger gears by removing the bolts,to make repair.
7.also check the ball bearing in the rear housing where the auger shaft goes through to make sure it is not egg shape,if egg shaped needs replacing.will cause belts not to stay on and jump off the pulleys.
8.Check the end hex flange bearing (the plastic piece) to see if it is out of round,if is replace it.
9.Also you can download your manual if you don't have one depending on your model and number.
hope this helps,DON'T FORGET THE 4 THUMBS UP,,,any comments welcome, thank you.

Replacing cord on Bosch Hammer Drill

I don't know what model you have but most Bosch hammer drills have three or four screws on the backside of the handle that, when removed, let you split the handle from the motor housing and gain access to the switch and brushes. The screws may or may not be covered by a rubber, non-slip covering that you'll have to peel back to get at them.

Remove impeller housing cover. Insert screwdriver carefully into back of motor to keep the armature from turning then unscrew impeller clockwise or opposite the direction of operation. Replace seal on impeller and pump housing. Lube seal with graphite. Replace impeller and housing cover. Remove screwdriver from motor. You should be good to go.

Install door latch cable

Technical Instructions
See picture below
1. Remove door trim panel and water shield per
NOTE: Place a strip of masking tape along the edge of door before removing trim panel to prevent scratching the door with the trim panel removal tool.

2. Snap cable housing end from slot on inside door handle assembly and disconnect cable.
NOTE: Use care to prevent bending of cable housing retainer bracket.

3. Remove rear window channel retaining bolt to allow access to door latch.

4. Position a block (screwdriver handle) between the latch and the door inner panel and snap the cable housing end out of slot (towards inner panel) on door latch assembly and disconnect cable at latch.
NOTE: Use care when removing cable housing to avoid bending of the latch. Discard cable.

5. Hook up new cable at latch and snap cable housing end into slot.
NOTE: Make sure the cable housing is fully seated in the slot.

6. Apply a light film of Teflon grease to the barrel end of the cable. See Figure A.

7. Install return spring. See Figure A.
NOTE: Ensure that the push button rod is located between the spring and the door inner panel.

8. Install foam block at latch. See Figure A.

9. Position water shield over the return spring and install push pin to retain upper portion of water shield. See Figure B.
NOTE: Push pin goes in the same hole as the return spring.

10. Clean hands of grease before performing step 11.

11. Remove protective backing along the lower edges only of the water shield. See Figure A.

12. Install latch water shield at door latch. Pinch the exposed adhesive surfaces together to secure the water shield. Check to insure water shield is not showing through the door shut-face latch access hole. See Figure B.

13. Attach cable to inside door handle assembly and snap cable housing into slot.
NOTE: Make sure the cable housing is fully seated.

14. Check the gap as shown in remote control using a 3/16 drill bit shank end. The drill bit shank should fit in the gap without any clearance and a tight fit is preferred. See Figure C.

15. If the drill bit is too loose or does not fit, adjust by bending the cable bracket as required.

16. Place plastic wedge on remote bracket as shown. Wedge must fit with at least a light press fit for retention. See Figure D.

17. After installation, Apply a dab of special Teflon grease, supplied with the service cable to cable housing openings at inside handle end. The grease should surround and contact the cable all the way around, to seal the opening between the cable and the cable housing.

18. Check all latch functions to insure correct assembly of latch system. If the inside handle does not release properly, replace the inside handle remote release mechanism.

19. Reposition and install trim panel using new push pins if required.

How to open hilti drill te 72?

To seperate the motor housing from the gear housing you need to loosen up the two 5mm allen head bolts at the base of the handle. At the top of the handle you will see a hole. there is a 5mm allen head bolt that you will access through that hole. Back that screw all the way out. The lay the tool with the gear housing down and the motor up. Remove the 5mm bolts holding the two housings together. Tapping with a soft blow hammer you should be able to seperate the housings. Be carefull that you don't lose the lube out of the housing.

Here are instructions on removing the front end.

If yours is a metal housing here is how you disassenble the front end.First you need to put a flat bladed chisel in the chuck. Then lock the chisel in a vise. Next you put a pipe wrench on the chuck cap nut. That is the piece on the end of the chuck. Using a cheater bar turn the nut off counter clock wise. You then can remove your chisel, the cap nut, an oring and the locking sleeve with two rollers. This will expose the chuck that is held in place with 8 5mm allen screws. After that you have a large snap ring to remove before pulling out the rest of the front end assy

Gaggia Carezza pump problem

I had a similar problem. Steam was fine, but just a drip out of the group head. The hoses looked fine, so I ended up taking apart the boiler. This really isn't too hard. You need metric allen wrenches size 3 and 5, a pair of channel locks and a screwdriver. You'll have to take all the wires off the boiler, so make sure you mark them before taking first. Remove the four allen bolts from below and you can take the whole boiler out. Removing the four allen bolts on the boiler will allow you to separate it and clean it. Mine was nasty. When I put everything back together, the pump sounded normal and I got normal flow from the grouphead. Hope that helps.

Can't separate case to replace broken switch

Have you removed the front housing? It has 4 screws that go into the handle halves and must be removed. As far as internal clips there are none. If you removed the front sometimes the handles stick together and you have to hold each piece and gently pull apart. Hope this helps
