SOURCE: sony Mhc GS100 want power up

The unit is in protect mode because a problem was deteected in the final output stage of the amplifier. The pop in the speakers is a god indication that there is DC current in the output stage. This is not a good thing. This is a relatively common failure of all receivers and can easily be fixed by any shop that does audio repair. Expect a parts cost in teh $30-$40 range.

Lucky guess: you have an auto-fuse somewhere on the back of the unit.

SOURCE: Sony MHC-57AV - System shuts down "Push power protect button"

Sonys built-in protection against shorts in the speaker system - of course, like it was by my CMT - CPX1 - there's no problem at the speakers at all - this have to be insured! If everything with the speakers and the speaker cabling is ok it might be the soldering at the S-Master IC's. The S-Master Unit is Sonys Digital Sound System, you'll find inside two identical S-Master IC's srewed togehter on a heat sink.
I recognized that if I opened the system, it was running, touching sometimes the S-Master PCB, it shut down.
Solution: there's a bad / poor soldering at the S-Masters pins (probably because of the heat sinks!). I resoldered all S-Masters IC Pins - that's it - my system is running now.

Hi!

This is what the manual says:

PROTECT"and "PUSH POWER" appear
alternately.

•A strong signal was input.
Press ?/1 to
turn off the power, leave the system
turned off for a while, then press ?/1
again to turn on the power.

•Check the speaker cables in case
"PROTECT" and "PUSH POWER"
appear alternately again after you turn
the system on.

There is most likely a short in the amplifier that will need to be repaired before the unit will power on normally.

Sir my sony stereo system showing "protect push power" how i troubleshoot the problem please replay fast

Protect Push Power on a Sony is telling you that you have an output short circuit and to turn off the player to prevent further damage.
Check the speaker cables for connection fault. If all is OK it means you have a blown STK Amplifier Chip. Will cost you about 20$ plus labor.

Sony MHC-NX3AV wont let me change cds. It just jams up ?

I had a similar problem, but this required a sony representative to fix it. I suspect that the track system the CD elevator uses has come out of place. Unless you know the internal workings of the machine, I would not suggest attempting this by yourself. Needless to say, damage to yourself or the machine could result.

See if you are under warranty and contact sony direct. This would be fixed for free, if you are, but it may mean being without your machine for a week or two.
