When you hit the extinguish button the wick should drop down so that you can only see just the top of it or maybe none of it. Check the position of the wick. It could be binding up so that it will not go into the lower position. If it isn't you will have to figure out why.

Need to see pictorial instruction on how to replace wick in a Dyna Glo RMC-95-C2 kerosene heater

I think the Dyna-glow RMC95 series of heaters are equivalent to DH2300 series heaters.
In any event, the wick you purchased should have ahd the installation instructions included with the wick.

If it didn't or you tossed it, Here's a link to the DH-2300 series heater's Owners Manual, which may help you.

Good luck. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when you try to install the wick. Particularly, if you still have kerosene in the tank.

I just replaced the wick, cleaned up the heater and filled with new K-1 kero. The heater (Dyna-Glo RMC-95-C7) is emitting black smoke worst than ever. The wick is burning a little unevenly.

Either the wick was improperly installed or you may not have allowed enough time for the wick to soak in the kerosene and become evenly distributed. Check the placement of the new wick and allow time (several hours) for the wick to absorb the kerosene.

I'm just looking for a site that may have an owner's manual that I can download--to change the wick on my Dyna-Glo RMC-55-Ry kerosene heater. THanks

The model number is actually RMC55R7 which may be why you had difficulty finding it when you did a search. Here is the manual you were looking for. In addition, here is a step by step guide for replacing the wick.

Hope this helps!

Dyna-glo kerosene heater (rmc-55-r7 )

wicks won't light for usually one of 2 reasons. water in the kerosene, which means a new wick and new fuel. or build-up on the wick. check to see if the wick is hard. your wick should be soft. burning out the heater until all fuel is used either by running down all the fuel in the unit or removing the fuel can and lighting to burn off all fuel in the bottom will prevent the wick from getting hard.
