Reformatting as per new system.

From what you say I presume you wish to put it back to when was supplied. If so, boot your computer and go into the Bios, select default settings.
Re boot your computer with your system disc in the DVD drive and when the menu asks whether you want to install a fresh system and format, select fresh system.
When your new system is installed, go to the manufacturers web site and down load the drivers for your computer then re-boot it.
Install Office and any other periferal software that was supplied with the computer and there you have a system installed bare PC.

Hope that helps.

Where does it say you have no disc?

On the hard drive, there should be either a hidden partition, (usually H or Z) or a partition with a repair version compressed designed to replace or repair the main partition, partition "C".
If you open up Explorer and find the files, you can reset your system to its factory setting. If you can't find it you will have to buy a new operating system.
Best of luck locating the other partition. When you find it, let me know if you can't set it up.

If you buy a second hand, it may have been damaged in mini switch (tact switch) under the WRITE button. You need to replace the tact switch. Easy and inexpensive, you can do yourself, only with a little knowledge of soldering

You may also try the FACTORY RESET.
Restoring the GT-10 to the settings made at the factory is referred to as a "Factory Reset."
Not only can you return all of the settings to the values in effect when the GT-10 was shipped from the factory, you can also specify the range of settings to be reset.

If you do this"Factory Reset", all the setting on user memory (that you create) will be erased, so backup your setting before doing this steps.

How can i recover my eee pc asus notebook to factory settings

Restart your computer and hit "F2" as the black screen appears. This black screen only appears for a short time, so pay attention closely.

Use the right-arrow key until you see the "Advanced" option.

Select "OS Installation" by scrolling through the options with the down-arrow key on the computer keyboard.

Change the option from "Finished" to "Start" by using the "+" key.

Go to the "Exit" tab by using the right-arrow key. Do this step while making sure that "Exit & Save Changes" is selected as well, then press "Enter," or "OK," to give administrative permission to perform the request.

Press the "F9" key whenever the EeePC starts back up, then select "Restore Factory Settings" from the list of options.

Give confirmation for proceeding with the Factory Restore by clicking "OK" and "Enter." Your EeePC will be taken through the process for installing a fresh image on your machine.

hope this helps

Restore my laptop to factory settings

Hi well you can ONLY do this with an external USB connected DVD, or USB memory stick. You would need to use the DVD and Boot up off the EEEPC DVD that came with the PC, or download a copy from the net, and then simply follow instructions. The same applies to the USB drive, you would need to make a install disk, using the software and a PC.

My mini notebook will not boot and tells me it can not locate windows because of a dll error

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308041
Try this at the above website..

Or try below...
Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, then replace that faulty DLL, or better still, do a System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

Making changes.

you could reformat it to factory settings, just after the computer is turned on, while the black boot up screen is up, press F11 until the system restore menu comes up, and then follow the directions for restoring it to factory settings. Important note, this will erase EVERYTHING on the computer, which is probably a good thing, since it is second hand. you don't want all their junk.
