Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Can I suggest you download the update to a memory stick with at least 256Mb free space on it. Create a directory on the memory stick called PS3, then inside that directory create a new folder called UPDATE. Put the update file into the UPDATE folder. Now back to your PS3
Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)
Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, beep again 5 seconds later and then beep once more and turn back off into standby. Release the power button.
Press and hold the power button again. It will beep when you first press it, then 5 seconds later it will beep again, then there will be 2 quick beeps together. Let go of the power button when you hear these 2 quick beeps.
The PS3 will start up asking you to connect a controller via USB and then press the PS button. Do then and then continue.
The PS3 will now load a menu. Make sure your memory stick is plugged into one of the USB ports of the PS3. Choose option 6 on the menu, "System Update". Follow the on screen instructions to install an update from an external device. Hopefully this should sort your problem for you.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
