I have an LG plasma big screen that recently lost video output. I still get audio but no video at all. It was intermittent at first and then eventually died on the video altogether. It is no longer under warranty.
I am a novice at TV repair but can read a schematic and have had success with other electronic repair. My question is, "how different is a plasma from a regular TV with regard to the video that needs to be applied"?
Since its already broken I figured I would give it a shot but if I need special tools or diagnostic techniques then I will just bite the bullet and hire a qualified technician.
LG Plasmas and all plasmas have problems with the sustain boards. You can replace them with just a screw driver to remove back and boards. Try tritronicsinc.com and andrewselectronics.com and search for Y and Z Sus boards.
They are not cheap and you may want to call a qualified servicer or deal with return cost if they don't work
