Question about Canon PowerShot SD750 / IXUS 75 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera problem I just dropped my camera last night and the lens won't go back in. You mentioned repairing lenses for $55. How would you go about doing this? Would you be able to offer the service to me?

What is 55-200mm?

That's the focal range of a zoom lens. Unlike a single focal-length lens (or a "prime" lens) a zoom lens lets you adjust the focal range. "55-200mm" specifies the lens's focal range from 55mm at the low end to 200mm at the long end.

You can read a general description of zoom lenses at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoom_lens

Nikon current has two different 55-200mm lenses:

If you're asking about the L110, it has a permanently-affixed lens and will not use either of the above lenses.

I have a Canon T50 film camera and one of my lenses (a 50mm) won't go back on. It's the lens that was attached when the camera was given to me, but now it won't go back on.

If you are putting it on correctly and it won't attach then something on the lens mount must have been damaged. Take the camera and lens to a camera or electronics store that does service work to see if it can be repaired.

My Nikon D80 w18-135 lens started flashing err last night. I was in -4 degree weather

Nikon D80 and D90 have that problem especialy with 18 105 kit lenses. You just need to lean the contact between camera body and len. Thry rubing with pencil eraser, but be careful not tu drop any inside of body. Do it upside down.

I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with the original 18-55mm lense and a Quantarey 70-300mm lense. Have had all pieces for 3 years now and everything worked great until last night. Camera focuses and...

This means that the communication with the Quantarey lens is not the right one.

You can try in cleaning the lens contacts and the camera contacts with a pencil eraser or a white erase (flip down the camera so no particles get inside the mirror box).

If still you are having problems, then that means the Quantarey lens is defective, and either needs to be service to be repaired, or you will need to get another zoom lens.

Best regards,

Broken Lense

try these:-
  • connect it to pc and on it
  • vaccum the barrel of lens
  • changing mem. card and batt. for 2min.
  • shake it.
  • on and off in different positions
  • hit the part near lens softly with palm (trust me this made mine work)

I have a Nikon D40X camera with two lenses - one is 18-55 and the other is 55-200. Unfortunately, when I was at a wedding rehearsal, my 55-200 lens dropped off the pew on to the ground. It was not on the...

It is broken - either you wear the cost and replace it, or send it to a lens specialist and have it reset. Without seeing it, it is impossible to ascertain the condition. Most lens repairers will give you a quote for only a few dollars.
Continuing to try and use it can damage the lens further.

Nikon Coolpix camera help

Hi:
Broken lens.
Try to force the lens gently out or in as you turn it on. This may help, and it may damage the lens even more. However, I have fixed a couple lenses which had problems as you mentioned.
If you use the wrist strap (that is what it is for to protect your camera) it will save a lot of problems.
Take care with the camera, it will last a lot longer.

If it is beyond repair, sell it on a site such as Ebay for parts or as is. At least you can get a few dollars for it.

The lense won't go in

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:
