It is not very hard to see a master link there is usually an elongated e-clip on the master portion. If it is really that hard to see than oil the hole chain or spray it with WD-40 to see better.

489 haybine. How in the he// do you replace the chain onto the sprocket in the reel area???? It broke and we can't get it back on.

Hey Carla,
If the chain broke, it might be missing some links causing it to be too short.. you should be able to loop the chain around both sprockets, and then, be able to have a masterlink to connect it.. If it is too short, then you are missing some links..

Recording levels are low

There's no record level adjustment on the Masterlink. Increase the output level of your mixer, or add a variable level preamplifier between the mixer and the Masterlink.

Or, use the level adjustment on the Masterlink once the recording has been done, and before you write it to CD, either with level control or DSP normalisation

Masterlink says load OS

go ahead and try it. reload the os. it is avail on the alesis site.
the o.s. may be corrupted and a reflash is what it needs. if the issue persist, the HD may need to be replaced.

you will need to burn an image cd for the masterlink. most cd programs can do this. if you cant, send me an email.

Honda CBR600F (1998) rusted chain

Replace the chain. A rusted chain will ruin a good sprocket. Chances are the chain was needing to be replaced even before the rust started. Check the sprockets. The ends of the teeth should be rounded. As a sprocket wears, the teeth start getting sharp on the ends. A bad sprocket can ruin a new chain.

A “very helpful” rating on this answer? Thanks!

No display anymore on front of Masterlink

Gotta be one for Alesis, I'm afraid, or one of their authorised agents. You can buy a CD drive or HDD for a Masterlink off the shelf of any computer store, but they don't carry display units! - hope it's still under warranty!

Masterlink OS v2.21 For Windows & Mac
MasterLink allows new software to be installed via CD-ROM. If you have a PC or a Mac with a CD-burner, you can download the file below and create an updated CD for your MasterLink.
