Question about Sony DW-G120A DVD RW Dual Layer Burner
Just got an Intel Core 2 Quad which is working well but the Sony DW-G120A DVD RW burns very very slowly. It took more than half an hour to burn 1GB and verify the data. Used 3 different burning programs but the same problem. Even copying files from this drive to the computer takes a long time.
I had a similar problem and fixed it by buying a £10 external USB enclosure, ripping the drive out of the computer and putting it into the enclosure.

Are you running this as an IDE Or Sata device.
If it,s IDE Try using an 80 Strand Cable, if your using a 40.
Also do away with the verifying the data.
This will reduce the speed by half, verifying the data is as good as writing twice.
