there's a broken belt switch connected to the belt idler pulley,(when this belt breaks the switch opens) located down by the motor and it kills the power to the dryer when the belt breaks so the heating element cant get the clothes too hot to burn the clothes when the drum cannot rotate properly

My dryer is heating but the drum is not turning, what is the problem?

What you are describing usually means that the drum belt on your dryer is probably broken
There is a simple way to test for this.
1 remove the clothes from the dryer.
2 while the machine is off put your hand inside the empty drum and turn it. If it is easy to turn, the belt is broken. If it is difficult to turn, the belt is good.
Almost all of the time, it is a broken belt.

Dryer can't turn on. Start button just buzzes.

replace the "Broken-Belt" switch by the drum motor, when the belt breaks it shuts off the heating element so as not to burn the clothes because the drum can't turn to produce air flow to dry the clothes as they tumble, when you replace the belt it will make the switch close the circuit again and it will start

My electric clothes dryer will not turn on, however the heating element gets hot. What is my problem

This can be caused by two things one a broken belt or 2 a short in the switch on the motor the motor must be running to send power to the heating element. ..Here is the question for you
1.Is the drum turning
2. if yes check the switch at the motor
3. if no then your belt is most likely broken

My lint filter assembly is broken. I was drying a small load of clothes and the lint filter got tangled with clothes and came out into the drum. The dryer was stopped when I found this situation. ...

The drum should turn either direction. Part of the filter must be catching in the belt at the drum or motor when turning clockwise. CCW would push it out away from the belt so no pinching.
