Bosch 4000 table saw motor

My Bosch 4000 froze up. Turns out to be the rear bearing. Replaced the bearing "6200ZZ" at the brush end. Works great now. If you are mechanically inclined, you may need a press to remove and install the bearing quickly.

I want to remove my table saw motor bosch 4000

Remove the end cap on the motor and remove the 2 carbon brushes. There are 4 screws that hold the motor to the frame and the field and motor housing will pull straight off. The armature will also pull straight out but will require some persuasion and finesse so you don't damage the fan blade.
The most common issue with these is the end armature bearing and with a bearing puller you can perform this with the armature still on the saw. If the bearing is frozen be sure to also check the rubber boot that goes over the bearing and also the motor housing where the bearing sits because it often melts from the friction.

Bosch 4000 table saw motor schmatic

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bosch-4000-0601476139-table-saw-parts-c-128_167_168.html
I have found the most common issue is a bad field with the second being a bad rear armature bearing and last being a bad speed control.
Most of the time slow speed or even running backwards is a bad field (part #2 on the breakdown) #1619PA5590
Remove the cap on the end of the motor & the 2 carbon brushes.
Remove the 4 screws holding the motor to the frame and pull it straight off.
Check the bearing on the end of the armature to ensure it is not frozen or stiff. If it is also check the rubber boot that sits over the bearing and the motor housing itself to ensure it is not melted.

Motor grinding and sparks

Sounds like you have a bad rear armature bearing.
Remove the end cap on the motor and the 2 carbon brushes.
Remove the 4 screws that hold the motor housing to the frame and pull it straight off.
Most often the bearing heats up enough to ruin the rubber boot that sits over the bearing as well as the motor housing itself. Check to ensure the armature is not burnt

Electric blade brake sounds like it is seized up. Upon starting table saw (bosch 4000), motor sounds like it is binding. How can I disengage the brake??

There is no electric brake on the Bosch 4100 table saw. If the motor sounds like it is being held back its possible the rear armature bearing has seized or the field coil is faulty. Both these problems cause the motr to not turn at full speed. The motor must be serviced.

I have a Bosch 4000 job site table saw. It has been making a shrill noise sometimes. Today, it locked up. I shut it off quickly and I don't believe it burned the windings. Is it a big job to replace the...

not if you are mechanically inclined and have a bearing puller. first unplug the tool and lay it on its backside to expose the motor, remove the brushes and the 4 screws that hold the motor housing to the diaphragm, remove the armature and then remove the bearings, press the new ones on, and reassemble, I would also replace the brushes unless they look really good.

If the rear cover appears to have melted also I would replace it. Sometimes they use a bearing cup but if it got that hot I would buy a new one, they are not that pricey.

Bosch 4000 table saw disassembly

turn the motor housing slightly until you can put a screwdriver between the housing and diaphragm, pull on the one side and push with the driver and it will come apart, I just did one yesterday. To get the armature out of the fan bearing you will need a dead blow hammer to tap on the diaphragm while pulling on the armature. The bearing is held in place with 2 screws, hope this helps.

My bosch table saw runs slowly backwards what part do i replace

Replace the field coil. I'm going to bet its a Model 4000. I have done about 100 of these saws in the last couple of years and my customers always complain of the same problem, "the saw was running backwards"

Change the armature back bearing while you have it apart, they always seize eventually.
